A Closer Look at Buehrle's Complete Game Loss
Buehrle threw exactly 100 pitches and 74 of them were strikes. Ironically, ten of those 26 balls came on the first pitch to batters. Here is his pitch breakdown:
* Fastball: 45, 87.8 mph
* Curve: 7, 72.4 mph
* Slider: 27, 83.5 mph
* Changeup: 21, 79.4 mph
Nobody swung and missed at his fastball though his slider proved difficult to make solid contact with; the [Blue Jays] fouled off nine of them and flat out missed six. Here are location charts showing where he threw his slider to righties and lefties:

can you imagine what Buehrle would do to our hitters?
If we hadnt locked him up, and he had signed with say, Cleveland, that’s another couple losses, and another opposing starter for our announcers to fellate.

A theory I just conjured:
After a quick check again to the THT team stars page, the White Sox hit more fly balls than any team in the AL other than the Tigers and are tied for least (rounded to two digit percentages anyway) line drives. Meanwhile, White Sox pitchers are giving up the fewest homeruns per flyball. Given that the Sox pitchers also don’t induce an above average number of infield flies, wouldn’t this make a good proxy for the rate at which the Sox themselves should be hitting homers? If the home run doesn’t come, this offense is going to struggle when it comes to capitaizing on scoring opportunities.
dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

speaking of juan, no all-you-can-eat seats planned for the cell
Spokespeople for the Cubs and White Sox said there are no plans at this time to offer all-you-can-eat seating at Wrigley Field or U.S. Cellular Field.
