Definitely a tougher Ray lineup....
when you add Floyd/Hinske and subtract Aybar/Gomes….Jose has his work cut out for him tonight.
A win tonight guarantees a successful road trip…..

“I keep saying I’m going to give ‘The Missile’ an opportunity to play and see how good [he does],” said Guillen, referring to Alexei Ramirez, who has been the primary starter at second in Uribe’s absence. “But we need Uribe to play second base.“I’m not going to say we’re a better ballclub, but we’re a better defensive club when Uribe is at second,” Guillen added.

When Uribe is hot, he can carry any ballclub in baseball.
Although both Uribe and Ramirez swing the bat from the right side, Guillen could go with a split-starting job at second. Basically, he would stick with the hottest hitter or best fit for a given period.“We can do that,” Guillen said. “Whoever gets hot is going to play and I’m going to pick the matchups here and there and see what happens. Right now, I cannot say exactly what the move is going to be.
“You have to get the best out of [Uribe] when he’s hot. When Uribe is hot, he can carry any ballclub in baseball. When Uribe is cold, he’s frozen. I’m going to take the opportunity when he’s playing well to play him.”
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

INTRO: Queer SF History
HOODS: North Beach | Castro | Mission | South of Market | Bernal Heights | Tenderloin/Polk
by Nancy Warren, Special to SF Gate
The Castro is queer central, ground zero for the gay bourgeoisie, as the fluttering rainbow flags make clear. While there's a special place in every queer's heart for the Castro, mainstream guys enjoy it most, whether they want to shop, bar hop or just stroll and cruise. A world-wide symbol of gay freedom and a major source of gay political power, the Castro is also at the heart of a controversy over queer commodification as rents rise and the one-time Gay Freedom Day parade seems more focused on selling than on yelling.

OMG
“From the ‘90s until today, the Castro has grown into a bustling queer commercial center full of shops, restaurants and bars. Still the heart of SF’s gay community, the Castro is sometimes so polished and shiny, it’s almost like a gay Disneyland. But, then again, there are worse places than Never Never Land. “

Tip for Ozzie:
Preparations for a filibuster can be very elaborate. Sometimes cots are brought into the hallways or cloakrooms for senators to sleep on. According to Newsweek, “They used to call it ‘taking to the diaper,’ a phrase that referred to the preparation undertaken by a prudent senator before an extended filibuster. Strom Thurmond visited a steam room before his filibuster in order to dehydrate himself so he could drink without urinating. An aide stood by in the cloakroom with a pail in case of emergency.”

The guy is pathetic. He is swinging at shit that he wouldn’t have when he was with the A’s.
And to Toonderstrook—I hope Thome heats up soon because he doesn’t look like the same hitter that he was last season. 0 for 3 with a BB and 2 K’s. A nice groundout in the late innings against a lefty too. Maybe age is catching up with him?

I will post this again in case you missed it...
37 year olds don’t usually turn into better players, they decline. Meanwhile, 28 is still in a players "prime years". But if you want to keep acting like a T-homer, go right ahead.
Both Rowand and Jones are around the same age and Rowand has put up a 108 career OPS+ while Jones has put up a 112 career OPS+. A lot of people probably thought that Jones would be better than Rowand this season. We didn’t expect him to show up to the Dodgers 30 pounds overweight. If he gets into shape, I would not be surprised if Jones outperforms Rowand next season, although park factors will probably come into play.
