maybe it will be black ________ (insert day following game in which uribe does not collect at least two hits)

So much for...

Alexei Ramirez being handed the starting job.

I guess that 0-for-4 by Cabrera wowed Guillen and confirmed his role as leadoff man extraordinaire.

Just returned from great day golfing.

I see from all the post the White Sox season is over and they have no chance. I must have missed the memo. I also didnt realize that someone had run away with the division and that (insert team) was a supremely talented team asserting its great strength with no flaws.

Okay I feel better.

Where'd you play?

Pitching and defense.

me and some work buddies have taken to the mid-day mini-golf at grant park.

started doing it last year, and i love it.

i wish someone had told me that sportsnation had replaced rationality with caps lock.

It was pretty decent.

They are actually currently redesigning the front 9. and a few on the back. Just a long drive for me.

It really doesn't take much...

to run away from the current White Sox team.

Thats why its happening right?

Thats why a week ago you were quick to assert that…

I don't ever remember saying...

that this team was a contender.

They’re better than I thought they would be, but they’re still a .500 team at best, and that’s if everyone stays healthy.

by winningugly on May 6, 2008 7:55 PM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Okay Jerry

We wont get into that tired argument again as the season will play out. My statement was regarding the silence when they finished up a successful 1st month. You wil be silent again when the team plays better.

Even in a 6 game losing streak I feel comfortable this team is better than last years and will definitely finish above .500 with health. The one recent question no one ever answers is what team in the supposed tough AL Central, which really isnt that tough will exactly be running away with it.

by Tdogg on May 6, 2008 6:36 PM CDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Apparently you didn't get the memo

It was handed out last night at our group therapy session, which you missed again!

Here’s the run down of how “running away with the division” is defined by both the sports writers of america and our own collection of SSS uber-freak out jockeys

Month – Games Ahead
1 1
2 2
3 2.5
4 3
5 3
6 2

So you will see that if a team wins the division by 2 games or more, sportswriter hindsight will tell you that they ran away with the division.

And, if you didn’t realize this – OMIGOD, THE TWINS ARE RUNNING AWAY WITH THE DIVISION RIGHT NOW.

EVERYBODY FREAK OUT!!!!!!

What's with this mealy-mouthed "with health" caveat?

Even you’re starting to hedge, this is bad.

I have been pretty clear the team has to stay healthy. Im not talking about 1 15 day dl stint. Relax.

Absolutely

The zone got smaller after he took umbrage to a close pitch that’s called a strike 80% of the time….

Oh and there were 4 outs in the inning

But Cabrera walks to lead off the game

and Blackburn is asking where the pitch is….

We have a chance to breakout with this zone tonight

speaking of extra outs

has anyone else noticed that buerhle is not having anywhere near the success he’s had in previous years pitching around bad defense/extra outs? it felt like he used to always pick the team up when they screwed up, but this year it seems to always lead to runs and actually a few blowup innings.

i wish someone had told me that sportsnation had replaced rationality with caps lock.
