beat me to that one. he even managed to turn his one hit into an out. add in a throwing error and a passed ball.

it’s enough to distract you from noticing that crede has 2 1-pitch outs and a k tonight.

i wish someone had told me that sportsnation had replaced rationality with caps lock.

crede must have gotten skittish after getting hit. not very chicago tough. and they gave jose a wild pitch...

although his K/9 is close to 4.50...almost 2 off of last season's huge drop off from the rest of his career.

so has he learned how to pitch better, or is his luck going to run out soon?

Not a great pitch

Outer half, Balentien did the right thing with it.

ray can flip them like nobody can

Reliever Ray King owns two Foreman grills: one for his home and one to use at spring training and during the season.

“It’s fast, it’s easy and it cooks perfect burgers,” King said. “It has to be healthier than cooking them in a skillet, with all the grease.”

According to King and fellow hamburger connoisseur David Weathers, the Foreman grill sparked a mini-controversy in the Brewers’ clubhouse before a game last season in Houston.

“Davey doesn’t usually go back into the kitchen area very often,” King said, referring to Lopes. “When we were at Enron (Field) last year, he came back there before a game and caught me and Weathers each with two big burgers on our plates. He wasn’t too happy. He started yelling at us and right away Stormy said, ‘I told Ray King not to do it.’

“We were both laughing but Davey got so mad that he took the grill away.”

Just saw a replay of Anderson's catch last night.

Jerry Owens would have been waiting at the wall for the ball and been in much better throwing position to double the guy off first ; )

LOL -

Yep with that arm of his they would counted it as a triple play with his rocket throw to first too. Actually – he is so fast – he would have just run it in and tagged the guy before he got back.

by Brush Back on May 10, 2008 10:56 AM CDT up reply actions

Who is this guy? Was all the cockines removed with his hair?

With one on and two outs in the second, he curbed the rally when he dived to snag a ball of the bat of by Jeff Clement. That kept the runners from advancing, and Contreras struck out Wladimir Balentien to end it.

“That was just pure good fortune right there,’’ Anderson said. “I know he’s got a lot of juice. He didn’t get all of it, and it died at the end. I was just fortunate it went into my glove.’‘

With one on and no outs in the fourth, Anderson crashed into the center-field wall to bring down a Richie Sexson blast.

“I had a good bead on it,’’ Anderson said. “It takes some skill, but it was one of those things: right place, right time.’‘

Anderson is fitting into his role well

Off to Orlando taking the family to Disney World, be down there for 7 days. Anyone want to loan me money? Mickey is a loan shark and Disney needs to be bought up on RICO charges.

by ballyb on May 10, 2008 12:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Still confused about this. I question it at the time, but no responses.

Thursday’s game, Uribe’s great slide helped us win.

The reason for the slide was Toby Hall hit a tailor made double play ball to 3rd. The pitcher (Brian Bass, who replaced an injured Neskek who’s now out for the year) had thrown 11 pitches and 9 were balls, including 7 in a row (underlined, in red). The bases are loaded and we need an insurance run. WhyTF is Toby Hall swinging? At ANY pitch (and IMO it was a ball, the 8th in a row)? Albert Pujols, maybe. Barry Bonds, maybe. Toby Hall, not under any circumstance.

Am I seeing this correctly?
