paulie wanted to say no

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

Yup.

Time for Swish’s luck to even out.

Easy

Taking a third strike down the middle = not bad luck
Diving catches, at-’em balls and rockets that hit off the bags for singles = bad luck.

Freaking Crede...

Gotta pray for a wild pitch at this point.

c'mon blind squirrel

get that nut!

When Swisher smiles because he cant catch up to 86 mph fastballs, or because he swung at a curve in the dirt... yeah, that makes me angry.

that we cant get a man in from third base.”

It is obscene...

and absolutely pathetic. The team should be embarrassed if they lose this game.

Swisher's AB

...might have been the worst I’ve ever seen for a big leaguer.

Fire Greg Walker...

...hire a full time sports psychologist.

by vince_ on Jun 1, 2008 3:22 PM CDT reply actions

walker should be fired

a) He’s not very good at his job.
b) That’s what you do when your team isn’t hitting. Even though it is normally more symbolic than anything, it would actually help here.

by shaftr on Jun 1, 2008 3:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Well there's a surpise...

...at least they ended it quickly.

fuck gross

and his christian rock at bat music.

by shaftr on Jun 1, 2008 3:24 PM CDT reply actions

This team will be out of first place in no time...

They can’t even score runs against bad pitchers.

by SSH2005 on Jun 1, 2008 3:25 PM CDT reply actions

Argh!!!!

That should say “Gross looked clueless on the fastball”—almost as clueless as my typing ability (or something like that).

clubhouse morale will skyrocket!

On a team with a competent offense

Thorndog is on the bench and Jenks is in there because we have a 1-run lead.

Fuck on a team with a competent offense the game would already be over because we won 6-3

by vince_ on Jun 1, 2008 3:26 PM CDT up reply actions

I don’t get it. Swisher’s not hitting. But you don’t use Quentin to PH. Previous game, Ramirez hitting so you PH. Toby’s hitting so you PH.

by SoxfaninAZ on Jun 1, 2008 3:26 PM CDT reply actions

That would have made too much sense...

Especially considering Quentin would have simply replaced Swisher in LF.

Swisher is pathetic. Even Jerry Owens might be an upgrade at this point.

Buehrle needs to go apeshit with a bat in the clubhouse...

...this time instead of a heater he should hit PK’s leg.

by vince_ on Jun 1, 2008 3:28 PM CDT reply actions

Way to totally blow it!

Its not like they didn’t have any chances…. what the fuck

by 815Sox on Jun 1, 2008 3:30 PM CDT reply actions

I've had it

I am frustrated to the maximum with our underachieving offense, specifically Thome, Kornerko, Swisher, Crede, and Cabrera. All of these players are going up to the plate without their brains. Even when one of them reaches base, the other players do not get them in. We are not hitting as a team. We are wasting great pitching performances and the hitting of Quentin, Pierzynski, Dye, Ramirez. It is amazing that we are in first place. We should have atleast 5 more wins.

Joe Crede has always been to me Clutch Crede. His average has always been low around .250, but it did not matter because he got big hits late in the game when they were needed. Now he has become Crappy Crede. Seriously, he is not using his head when he is batting. That at bat in the 10th was really dumb. He is swinging at pitches way outside and way low, and letting good pitches go by.

Thome barely hits anymore. When he does hit, usually Kornerko wastes it. There are many players who would be a better DH than Thome. It is time to get rid of him.

Kornerko needs to benched and possibly even sent down. This is ridiculous how slow of a start he has each and every year. We should fine him for 2 months of his salary because he does not start to hit until June.

Cabrera and Swisher have turned out to be bad pickups. Swisher at least cares about the team and is a good clubhouse guy. Cabrera though only cares about himself and his stats. Get rid of Cabrera. Play Ramirez at shortstop, his natural position. Either play Uribe or Richar at second. As for Swisher, he needs be benched or sent down. Anderson has played much better this season.

This stubbornness that Kenny and Ozzie have with keeping with our pathetic veterans is hurting this current team and the future of the team. We need to PLAY THE KIDS.;

On Wisconsin!

by Looney_Bucky on Jun 1, 2008 3:46 PM CDT reply actions

We have no kids to play

Fields appears to still be injured.
Owens isn’t doing crap at AAA and is a marginal major leaguer to begin with.
Who else do we got?

Looks like the Twinkies are going to win...

Sox will be only 1 game up soon. They should have won 3 games in this series, not 1. If they had even a mediocre offense, they would be 3 games up on the Twinkies.
