I assume
that “Jeff Larish” and “Brent Clevlen” are just some random names Leyland made up while he actually decides on his DH and left fielder?

was probably in another thread, but
Willis is now in A ball.
When she farts, a little rainbow comes out...
Larish is an Iowa product (via ASU)
Was considered by some to have the best power in the ‘05 draft (I think he was second to LaPorta in HR that year)... Some scouts really hated him, and his bonus demands outstripped his tools/projections…
He’s a decent prospect still, albeit one with less upside than when he was originally drafted… He essentially possesses the same skill set as Josh Fields.
Cleven killed us when we saw the Tigers early this year.

Cheat, did you ever consider asking Williams or Hahn
to visit here and take questins ala Beane?
Curious because I heard Hahn with Levine and Coopock and he seemed pretty open. Even made reference to “Sunday Lineups”
When she farts, a little rainbow comes out...
I think it was Clete Thomas
that killed us in the early games—looks like Clevlen just got called up.
Amazing if you had all that off the top of your head about Larish (which I assume you probably did given the timing of your post). Either way, thanks for the info.

You're right
but we saw Cleven last year
I know people who know Larish from his HS days. He had a ridiculous sophmore year at ASU that had some speculating him going #1 overall eventually.

Ah...
is this the if it ain’t messed up don’t mess with it line-up until they stop hitting?
Let’s keep winning series. Go Sox!
gonna out-energy a lot of guys, simply by over-attituding them

So
Is the Sox strategy to just make outs on purpose to keep the Tigers in the game?

Cabrera too

keep in mind they cite Clemens..
he may have had them for postgame.

I'll take the run

Baserunning continues
to need work. What was AJ thinking?
i didn't see the play
but seems to me generally you have to be careful going for two there with one of the league leaders in HR on deck.
Half Dome is my bitch. Shasta is next.

sigh. AJ ensured there would be play at the plate by running.
Smart play says Stone too.
When she farts, a little rainbow comes out...
just saw the play on gameday video.
when the cutoff guy gets the ball alexei is two steps from the plate. maybe if thome or somebody had been running, but not ramirez.

by Toonderstrook on Jun 10, 2008 6:52 PM CDT up reply actions
hence
my comment about if thome maybe, but not ramirez…you gotta know who’s on base and that with 2 outs and running on contact, alexei doesn’t need protection on ground ball singles.
Half Dome is my bitch. Shasta is next.

yeah
giving away outs, especially with the #3 hitter in your order coming to the plate, is no big deal.

fine. I'll take the real 1 run that scored,
you can have the imaginary 2.
When she farts, a little rainbow comes out...
no comprendo.
the real run that scores would have scored regardless. aj staying put left open the possibility for more.

besides, I don't think anyone can complain about
trading an out for a run.

I understand the cash
But watching Crede this year in field, scares the hell out of me with Fields

Alexi was going to be safe and AJ made a needless out.
What is the question?
Now up to a full inning of outs given away.
The SSS motto should be the answer to "What is our deepest fear?". Or maybe just Prozac.
Because the bats have been cold
and Pudge has a weak arm.

What the hell is going on tonight?
Are the Sox just trying fool some advance scouts against an inferior opponent?

I know he's 2-2.....
but I think you walk Fagglio here.
But do you let Cabrera beat you or Larish?
Larish? Right?
Point is that I think I'd rather have Det score a couple of runs b/c John Larish....
who has only faced Contreras once before got a hit…..rather than Miguel Cabrera…obviously Jose made a bad pitch…and obviously it was Jose…not Ozzie Guillen.
Contreras is Detroit's bitch
This year.
The SSS motto should be the answer to "What is our deepest fear?". Or maybe just Prozac.
It does strike me as funny...
that the White Sox have their two biggest free swingers batting 1-2.

Um, The Necktie isn't more of a free swinger than anyone on the team?
Or the league?

will Cuzzi be behind the plate this series?
I have no idea how umpires rotate.
When she farts, a little rainbow comes out...
Usually Robertson looks really good against us
(or at least ix mostly able to escape damage) but has 1 big inning… Walks are usually his undoing. But he’s at like 70 pitches, and hasn’t really struggled with control.
AIM: SouthSideCheat
Granted, I think that was an unintentional intentional...
but it was a walk.
Both feet on the bandwagon.
I'm over this one....
I know CLE is the team to worry about….but if CC holds on we’ll still be 6.5 games up…and 7.5 over CLE…
Easy to see this letdown game…..
they’ll be back to tomorrow to hit Verlander.
yup, all over
it's time to accept that we're powerless when it comes to the white sox and turn ourselves over to a higher power: KW
Have you ever heard of T Jones?
The guy is practically unhittable.
Thanks again, stan
We now officially have a shot.

at least they turned the lineup over
although the bottom seems as potent (or more so) than the top at this point.
Contreras' last two starts

Tonight
Ozzie, apparently asleep at the wheel

Ummm Ozzie?

They have hit him hard 3 starts now.
Why let him come out for inning?
The SSS motto should be the answer to "What is our deepest fear?". Or maybe just Prozac.
One of Ozzie's worst of the year.....
I still maintain that letting Cabrera beat us instead of Larish in the 5th was a poor decision.
Nice to see
a baserunner getting thrown out stealing, when it is an enemy.

we could and should have had 1 out with runners on 1st and 3rd, why not take the sure play?
heck of a job coxie
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
Razor Shines
lost his job for that, or something?
I guess sometimes players have bad games (see Jose).....
and coaches (COXIE, OZZIE).
... and commenters
(see my comment opening the thread).
I meant to say, “my, what a formidable lineup the Tigers have arrayed against us this night. Although I am somewhat unfamiliar with 2 of the fine gentlemen selected by Mr. Leyland, I am certain that they are high quality ballplayers, much skilled with both bat and glove.”
It was a typo.

OC very afraid of Pudge balls - hit, thrown, whatever

Just saw this...
The Tim Donaghy scandal just got more serious.
The disgraced former NBA referee told authorities in a four-page letter released Tuesday that two officials conspired to fix the outcome of a 2002 playoff series and influenced several other post- and regular-season games.
Glad we don’t have scandals in MLB.
At least 2 on offense
and one by letting Count stay in too long.

i'm irate. we need to win every single game. anything less than 98-0 the rest of the way and i'm done as a sox fan because they'll obviously have given up. fire ozzie, get cox' head out of his ass, and burn walker at the stake. oh, bench thome and DFA swi
all right. i’ve saved everyone the effort. just reply with “agree” and we can all go to bed.

Railcats have the same program
I believe they supply the home owners with season tickets as a payment too. I read about that a couple years ago. It always amazes me how little these guys get payed. Thats true love of the game.
most minor league teams have such a program
