must win?
i know it is only june 12th tomorrow but i just can't help but say that tomorrow is a must win game. detroit looks to be on the upswing and get the dodgers and sf next while the twins will get the brewers and those nasty nats the next six games. tomorrow needs to be a statement game from the crew. kenny rogers has the assignment of getting the sweep for the tigers. rogers was tagged for seven runs in his only start against the sox earlier in april. mark buehrle will look to string together three straight quality starts for the first time all season and also shut down the tigers offense for the 2nd time this season. the bats need to get back in the spring of things tomorrow against the soft tossing rogers and get some more momentum rolling into the colorado series back at home. i just feel that a loss tomorrow may get the tigers on a huge roll and they might never look back and give the twins a small sense of hope back that they should never have to begin with. so here's to captain q having a big day at the dish and burls shutting down those tigers tomorrow.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow...
Detroit doesn’t have the pitching to pull of a massive comeback. Outside of Verlander, I can’t see anybody in that rotation holding up come August.
Will...I...be...able...to...play...softball...tomorrow?
Oh, no, Mr. Scioscia. At this time tomorrow, you'll barely be able to breathe.

i'd rather sweep the Twins and get swept by the Tigers
than vice-versa.
Yesterday, I actually had a Tigers-fan friend say thanks to the Sox for “getting Detroit back on track. Now they are making their move.”
I remember feeling the same delusions last year, that the Sox were over their early slide and were going to jump back in the race. Those feelings passed and will for Detroit too.
