from the looks of gameday's pitch graphics,
looks like danks getting squeezed early.

Todd Helton
Hawk and DJ says Helton is a first ballot HOFer. Is he?
I think so, but I haven't seen a proper statistical overlay

Interesting
Delgado’s total is 100.5 and Bernie Williams is 130. Average HOFers is 100

Nomar Garciaparra 127
Thats hard to swallow.

She is far from hot.
Rockies @ White Sox (6/14/2008):
Cy De La Rosa's line -- 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO
The White Sox "unlucky" offense dropped Cy De La Rosa's ERA from 8.13 to 6.89.
Just name any Russian female tennis player...

Here are the positional bonuses
- 2 points for a gold glove at C, SS, or 2B, and 1 point for any other gold glove.
- 6 points if they were the regular SS or C on a WS team, 5 points for 2B or CF, 3 for 3B, 2 for LF or RF, and 1 for 1B. I don’t have the OF distribution, so I give 3 points for OF.
- 5 points if they were the regular SS or C on a League Championship (but not WS) team, 3 points for 2B or CF, 1 for 3B. I don’t have the OF distribution, so I give 1 points for OF.
- 2 points if they were the regular SS or C on a Division Championship team (but not WS or LCS), 1 points for 2B, CF, or 3B. I don’t have the OF distribution, so I give 1 points for OF
30 points for 2100 games at 2B or SS, or 15 for 1,800 games

Paulie, JD and Swish were all looking to go the other way on the outside fastball, so that looks good. I like De La Rosa’s stuff so far, but he looks like a fastball/change type and I think Thome actually would have been an okay play today…if he’s healthy anyway.

his ability to drive the ball with power...
so i guess that means avg flyball distance

Who here trusts Masset in this spot?
I’m just curious to see how other peopl think of him
-Jeeves Life in the Cell
Not me, but I don't mind seeing him here
dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.
Trust has nothing to do with it.
That’s like asking if you trust gravity.
We can’t explain why gravity exists, only that it does. The same with Masset.
Both feet on the bandwagon.
the graviton evades all detection in the same way Masset has avoided a DFA

I'm in the same boat
don’t trust him, but don’t dislike seeing him there in that spot

How has Buchholz done so well this year?
Throwing 90 on a hot gun as an RHP?
dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.
He's hitting 94 on the Rockies feed.
Danks was 92-93. Seemed right.

first post
This game is so boring I just had to sign up. Interesting and depressing — though not necessarily surprising, considering — Sox stat this year. In games where both teams score 2 or fewer runs, the Sox are 2-8. That blows. I haven’t checked on the 2005 numbers, but you know …
Welcome gaffer!
Have you been a lurker?

Only for a few days
My friend sent me the link to this site recently. I live in LA and, to my knowledge, am the only Sox fan in this city since Eazy-E died. Looking forward to seeing what’s out there when the Sox play the Dodge in LA. I live about 2 mi. from the Stadium.
nice
I go to UCLA, so you’re not alone in LA as a Sox fan, at least for 9 months of the year

WOW
U guys can jam to some Rod Stewart and play catch phrase together! At least now, Jeeves can say he met a guy on something other than craigslist personals!

Assuming nothing changes
this will be the 7th time the Sox get shut out this year. Already.
By way of comparison here’s how many times they have been shut out in recent seasons (these are all full year):
2007: 11
2006: 6
2005: 7
2004: 8
2003: 8
2002: 7
2001: 4
2000: 3

Pathetic
I am starting to wonder if some of our guys were using PEDs. I think a lot of these fly balls would have gone yard in previous years… Just look at both leagues now, ERA’S are down, average pitchers are becoming much more valuable since so many teams were built focusing on power numbers. Now many of these one dimensional players are no dimensional. Hopefully we see more speedy lead off types get a chance since they can help teams in more ways than a slugger would, I want to see more skill sets in the game and less home runs. It is very refreshing to me to watch baseball be played the way it was invented to be played.
