Predictions on this weekend?

Friday: John Danks, LHP (4-4, 2.90) Ted Lilly, LHP (7-5, 4.76)<br />Saturday: Jose Contreras, RHP (6-5, 3.24) Jason Marquis, RHP (5-3, 4.24)
Sunday: Javier Vazquez, RHP (7-5, 4.13) @ Ryan Dempster, RHP (8-2, 2.76)

The Sox should have the advantage in every pitching matchup ( I just can’t believe that Dempster is this good ).

10 K through 5 for DLR

that really isn’t a very scary Cleveland lineup without Pronk and Martinez, that’s for sure.

are you trying to use stats around here? what the fuck do you think this is? - MM

by colintj on Jun 19, 2008 9:43 PM CDT up reply actions

True

But my new favorite non-Sox pitcher came back from 3-0 to K Sizemore. Certainly incongruous given his 6.45 ERA…

Cleveland does seem to be in trouble. The lineup has only 3 above average bats in it right now. And if Byrd/Sowers/Laffey falter (I guess Sowers already has been) it will be pretty bleak.

by hitlesswonder on Jun 19, 2008 9:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Help is on the way...
Indians acquired catcher Sal Fasano from the Braves for a player to be named.
The Indians wanted someone better than Yamid Haad to back up Kelly Shoppach while Victor Martinez is out. Fasano will take over the role now. It’s doubtful that the team gave up a legitimate prospect to get him.

Haha.

If he did that at against AAA hitters, it would still be an impressive feat that suggested he had significant upside. Pair that with control and you have a good pitcher. Not to mention his career peripherals aren’t awful.
