How does Kenny Lofton not have a MLB job?
.296 AVG / .367 OBP / .414 SLG / .781 OPS / 105 OPS+ / 7 HR / 38 RBI / 23 SB
Has he officially retired or is he still looking for a team? Does he want a starting job? Maybe he is waiting for some starting outfielder to get injured so he can join a team's outfield for their playoff run? In any case, that OBP would sure look good at the top of our lineup and he would make a great bench stick. If Edmonds could latch on with the Cubs, Lofton should be playing for some team as well. Obviously, his defense isn't what it used to be but no one seems to believe that Lofton will keep hitting year after year at his age... yet he keeps proving people wrong.

I read somewhere he talked to a couple teams...
...but wasn’t interested in their offer – sounds like a money issue.
Once Uribe is officially back...
Ozuna is pretty much expendable [worthless]. Who would you rather have on the bench — Ozuna or Lofton?
I would love to have Lofton
Platoon him with Swisher until he gets good again, and then eventually put Konerko on the DL for his wrist, move Swish to 1B, Kenny then takes over CF. Then when Paulie comes back use Lofton as a bench player and sub for JD and Swish. He could get a good amount of PA if he is willing to be a 4th OF.
your idea?
i thought i said he should be our starting center fielder!
dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.
Lofton now fits the Sox with Konerko likely headed to the D.L.
The Sox have 39 players on their 40-man roster. Sign Lofton and stick him in CF and move Swisher to 1B. Lofton leads off and Cabrera bats second. Ozzie will be happy with a bit of speed at the top. We will be happy with some good OBP at the leadoff spot.
Rockies @ White Sox (6/14/2008):
Cy De La Rosa's line -- 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO
The White Sox "unlucky" offense dropped Cy De La Rosa's ERA from 8.13 to 6.89.
