lol @ ramirez
high fastball he hits a looping liner to deep short and is easily thrown out. Most guys a) take that pitch or b) swing right through it every time. Somehow Ramirez hits it hard but right at someone.

losing a 3 run 4th inning lead
doesn’t make it epic.
from the American Heritage Dictionary Epic – “Surpassing the usual or ordinary, particularly in scope or size” and i’m assuming you’re not referring to it in the heroic sense, so i’ll ignore that
Sorry, but that doesn’t seem to be too out of the ordinary. now don’t mention that they ended up scoring 9 runs because this comment was made before then. be glad that now you can stop watching this game and enjoy a wonderful day outside. once i hit post here, my afternoon is freed up and i will enjoy a glorious day.

As soon as he stated throwing balls, (we're down 11 - 5)
I start yelling “come on, Carlos, just like the other night – a few walks, a few HBP, and we’ll be right back in it.” Cub fans are snickering, “Yeah sure.” Ten balls later they’re all yelling , “GET HIM OUT, NOOOOOOOOOOW.” How that pitch missed Ramirez (btw, it was NOT a slow pitch), I’ll never know. Like you said, “who knows?”

Most players ignore it, AJ whips ‘em into a frenzy. Just scowled / smirked at them after he tagged out Marquis. He’s always in the middle of it.

Because...?
If I’m hanging with fellow Sox fans during a broadcast I don’t constantly want to defend that they don’t suck. And when they do, I don’t want it to be a contest as to who predicts failure first and revels in it. Not fun.
It’s not a matter of growing hair. It’s a matter of choosing to not constanly fight. I’ve been in marriages like that – it’s exhausting. I left that, got into a good, positive one, and will not go back to energy-depleting relationships, even on the Web.
You suck the life out of the room with your negativity and pride in predicting negative performance. I can appreciate you are a fan, and that’s how you proclaim your loyalty (as goofy as I think it is). I just don’t have to be a part of it. If that makes me a puss, so be it.
I was hoping fatherhood might take the edge off your negativity. You are a metronome, though, and seem to be posting negatively even more often.
No mas. Nothing personal – it’s just not my idea of a good time any more.

PIssing away games
This is my first post and am from Baltimore and have probably only seen about 75% of the games this year but it seems to me that unless we get 3 home runs or a blowout were fucked. The continued absence of bunting late in the game, hitting and running with the bottom of the order, or doing anything from the staff is pissing me off. Dotel’s numbers may be great but he is fucking gasoline in tight situations and Ozzie’s continued use of him is pissing me off. I understand the team leads the league in HR’s, but in a close game (Friday) switching it up and bunting may not be a horrible idea. This isn’t hindsight, our performance in tight games has not been great, even with a nice pen. The inconsistency with the offense needs to be addressed in the decisions made by the staff, like trying to manufacture some runs every other day when 3-4-5 dont do shit. Glad to be on here, let me know what you think.

peanut gallery
which I am because I dont follow the sox but I’ll jump in.
It would be nice to see a team be able to flip the switch and sac fly, blunt, steal, etc. their way into one run late in a game but the Sox are not that team. They aren’t built that way. It’s homeruns or bust and then you hope your starters are solid and the pen is lockdown. That is their formula to win and they cant just say “hey lets not do what we are built to do in these last 3 innnings.”

I'm a lurker, not a poster much
but SSH is right on the money, whether it makes people feel good or not. The Sox are pretty much what pre-season PECOTA said they were: a ~.500 team. The Cubs to me look like a better team, as do the Tigers and maybe even the Indians.
So we can either raise expectations and expect it when they perform over their heads, or blow out bad teams (Pirates). We can get real mad when they lose to better teams (Cubs).
Or we can keep expectations low, chuckle about how we’re getting away with being in first place with this team, and not mind too much when we inevitably have days like today.
Same team, and it’s a lot more fun to keep expectations low.
Jose’s decline over his last couple starts might be a harbinger of this team’s real downfall: the fragility of the pitching that’s been the only thing propping them up.

I just hope we have keep being a pain in the central’s ass for the rest of the season.
