The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

He’s going to be a good one, no?
Anyone else think his name sounds like a spy or secret agent?

I heard that he introduced peanuts to Georgia.
also, he originally thought he he was going to the University of the Former Soviet Republic of Georgia, thus, learned Russian, explosives, hostage negotiation, and how to make an award winning Borscht.

Actually...
Georgian food is really, really good. More Armenian or Turkish than Russian. In fact, whenever I’m in Moscow (OK, I’ve been once) I eat Georgian every other night.
But it’s not Borscht-centric. It’s heavy on the grilled lamb and chicken with a cumin-spiced tomato sauce (we still make this whenever we do a fancy kebob dinner). Plus they have this great naan-like flatbread that’s delicious.
Man, I wish they had Georgian food places in Denver.

Armenians love sour cream
That’s all I know about Armenian food.

With your permission, I propose
to use the terms “Borcht-centric” and “Fancy Kebob” frequently in everyday conversation from this day forward.
I will credit you appropriately, of course.

Posh Sting
should be his nickname, combining Gordon Sumner (Sting) and David Beckham’s wife. Just seems catchy.

how to get sonnanstined
Andy Sonnanstine (RHP, TAM). There has been a lot of discussion on our forums about why Sonnanstine hasn’t emerged as quickly as we thought he would. Well, now we know. His command (K/BB) ratio is nearly two times better pitching with the bases empty (5.2 Cmd) as it is when pitching with runners on (2.9 Cmd). He has a 100+ BPV with the bases empty.

does anyone do that Joe Cowley twitter thing?
it’s caused me some grief, when i signed up I mistakenly put the mrs’ phone no in instead of my own. I’ve unsubscribed and everything, but she’s still getting text messages about the Sox, it wouldn’t be so bad but they are usually about 4 o clock in the morning. She’s getting very cross with me about it, I think we may have to change the number.
has anyone used this service, and how do you unsubscribe?
many thanks

beckham comp
Ozzie Guillen compared Beckham to Michael Young, based on videotape he had seen prior to the draft. But a scouting director for another major league team drew comparisons to Rick Burleson, a three-time American League All-Star shortstop. Based on what little I’ve seen of him, I like his swing and that he rarely uppercuts. His defense is good enough to play shortstop, and it’s not the end of the world if he moves to second base.

re: it’s not the end of the world if he moves to second base
now that the pick has been made, this isn’t really all that relevant, is it? if the guy is playing every day at any position, the pick will have been a huge success.

He has a nice, square jaw, looks like Capt. America
He’ll be fine. Once he hits Chi-town and gets groomed, ala Johnny effin’ Damon after he joined the Spanks, he’ll be fine.
