.410 and increasing
single to short left
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

liner or yet another seeing eye grounder?
college defense must not be very good relative to the bigs. you see more bouncing grounders get through than any MLB game other than last night’s first inning.

liner
in the gametracker go to play-by-play on the first inning
there where it says “beckham singled to left field” click on the ‘singled to left field’ part and look on the field graphic

Well, the metal bats help, don't you think?

well probably, but i doubt it increases the average speed of groundballs too much if at all
i always hated playing with those things when i pitched. make a great pitch only to see some midget sophomore get enough of the bat handle on it to get it past our SS.

Well isn't that the point?
If it’s good for HS GB speed why would it not translate to college?
BTW, ESPN LOVES the UGA MILF. And so do I.

I was thinking compared to the majors
In the majors you get stronger people with wussier bats. I figured it canceled out. HS was a bitch because the defense was so bad, being a groundball pitcher was a curse if you wanted to get along with your teammates.

it happens all over D-1 too outside of top flight schools
the terrible defense makes the pitcher look like poo. infielders with no range, a lot of balls that end up falling and go as doubles or triples because outfielders never actually get a jump to get close enough to get a glove on the ball, and aluminum-aided duck snorts. then pitchers figure they need to strike everybody out because their defense is so terrible.

yeah it's one of the things that's really helped out Michigan's program
our head coach does a great job promoting the groundball and getting his guys to pick it up. Jason Christian, their SS, went in the fifth round this year and it wasn’t because he had a ton of pop. it’s actually a really fun team to watch.
why did wisky drop their baseball program?

HOW ‘BOUT OUR RAYS, MOFO?
I think bally’s bet is looking a little tense for him. I predict his face caves in Sept. 23rd.
