LOS ANGELES – White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko could resume batting practice as soon as Saturday if his rehabilitation from a left oblique muscle strain continues to progress.
Konerko took swings off balls flipped to him Thursday, and he will take another round of flips and play catch Friday. He will be re-evaluated after taking batting practice Saturday. He is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Monday.
Pitching coach Don Cooper had his left hamstring heavily wrapped while lying on a training table after the Sox’s 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cooper took plenty of good-natured ribbing from his players, but a couple were nice enough to bring him a plate of food.
"When you drink and eat and are out of shape, that’s what happens," manager Ozzie Guillen deadpanned.

Sox batters (apart from Ramirez) rubbish as usual, but we get the win, and 2 out of 3 is very good on the road non? I am now drinking some gorgeous French red wine with some Cheese and Biscuits to celebrate.

...nice seats today provided by a certain g.m (not ours) w/ a much better result. a couple of obvious key moments—the Danks defensive gem that turned into a key DP, and JD’s game saver. Of course all of us sox fans wanted to see the replay on the big screen, but the infantile dodger policy is no repeats for the enemy. BTW, going to dodger stadium is a fascist experience to say the least. tell u where to park, where to walk, when to clap, when to boo… but still the nicest place in LA to spend a summer eve. Our hitters were sucky as usual (except for obvious exceptions), and if someone can tell me what the hell BA is still doing on this team, I’d appreciate it. A nice oofer and looking piss-poor while doing it. Crede also seems ready for a few t-ball sessions.
