I'd be unthrilled with another overdraft of a "solid" Stanford catcher. It's from a Keith Law ESPN Insider article -- maybe someone with access can comment further.

Hitting Ability: A little heavy on his front side, he can be vulnerable to the changeup; sometimes Castro tries too hard to be the guy in the lineup. He does have the ability to drive the ball from the left side of the plate.

He’d fit in just fine.

What would Kittle do??

It's not a bad site

It basically aggregates stuff from all over the media. There’s very little “unnamed source says…” postings. Everything is usually sourced and pure speculation by the site owner if clearly differentiated from the pure speculation of “baseball insiders” —like this where Keith Law is speculating. I don’t know the last time Law was right about something, but I think he’s generally well-regarded. Not being able to read Insider, I have no idea what he specifically says about the Sox and Castro.

Meh

I don’t know how people have the time to get that worked about stuff. I have no problem with MLBTR’s post or LGT’s rejoinder that it was stupid. They should have left it at that rather than argue about MLBTR dumbening down the net.

just wanted to point out the other perspective

they do some good things. but the whole linking cobweb thing they do certainly doesn’t make me respect them. but whatever pays the bills, right?

There are worse ways to make money

And thwarting the kind of search engine gaming apparently employed by MLBTR makes for a nice research project for Google and hundreds of search startups. Keeps people employed…

Some of the banners were shown off Tuesday, including those featuring Pres. Barack Obama both before and after his election.

A White Sox World Series Championship banner, signed by pitcher Mark Buehrle, is also being sold, as is a Blackhawks playoff banner signed by Denis Savard and Stan Mikita.

The bidding starts at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Daley Center. Money raised goes to help the Chicago Anti-hunger Federation and the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
