Gordon Beckham

He's listed on Milb.com as being on the Kannapolis roster:

http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Gordon%20Beckham&pos=SS&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=493596

This is a great thing considering a fair amount of rookies start out in short-season rookie ball.  Kannapolis has only 17 games left, which isn't bad considering how late in the season we are and the MILB Playoffs being just around the corner.  Anyone have any idea on when he'll get his first taste of Minor League Baseball?

A Successful Weekend Indeed

Beckham went 3-3 today with a 3-run Homerun to round out his spectacular performance at the plate this weekend in Kannapolis in 3 games:

.636 (7-11) 4 runs, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBIs, 4 BBs, 0 K’s, .733 OBP, 1.000 SLG, & 1.733 OPS.

Good riddance Orlando Cabrera…

where's the consistency? one game battering gio doesn't mean much, but a big weekend in kanny is huge?

based on his weekend of pummelling the pitching of the most godawful team in the sally league,

i’d say he should be called up to the big league club before the end of the month. that way he’ll be available for the playoffs.

paging mr. poreda. paging mr. aaron poreda. your seat in the left field bullpen is ready.

eventually, sure

but for now he’ll get a 2 week trial in Kanny

nothing gets ‘em wetter than infrequent postings on the city’s second favorite team
