Pitching Fails Sox Again
I gleefully missed most of this one, so I'll just leave you with an Ozzie Guillen truism.
"We've got to pitch. If we don't pitch, I don't care how many Ken Griffey Jr.'s we bring in this year. It's all about pitching."
Griffey made a routine play, one that I heard called spectacular on CSN's update show, look harder than it should have been, and took his sweet ass time getting to an Esteban German triple before getting pulled with a leg cramp in the 6th.
The Sox will eventually realize that Griffey can't play CF. The question is, will they still be in first place by the time they figure out the obvious?

Crede?
Didn’t see him in the lineup tonight for Charlotte….I guess either his back flared up or he’s enroute to KC for tomorrow’s game, though I know the original plan was to try and have him back by Tuesday.

im guessing its his back.
I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die? Why do they come to me to die?"

I know there aren't many 3B on the market this upcoming offseason
but I really wonder if Crede isn’t to get the type of $$$$ Boras thinks he will.

That triple should have been cut off well before the ball reached the wall.
I mentioned something during the game and have now watched the replay a couple times. I don’t know if it was resignation or just plain lack of speed, but I would like to think a mediocre CF cuts that ball off and holds it to a double.
Go Sox!

holy shit yeah i thought the same thing...kind of like manny jogging after a ball on that one...
in all reality that shouldn’t have happened at all because of the missed call at 2nd base on the double play attempt after the lineout to uribe…but still that ball needs to be cut off…wow
i think it would be pretty sweet if ssh's kid and kenwo's kid had offspring together...whether you believe in nature or nurture, it wouldn’t be boring.-larry

Boy, this Minnesota team really stinks.
They lost 5 – 1 to the Cleveland Indians.
At home!
Pitching, defense and health.

Haha, Griffey's routine catch in CF was one of ESPN's Webgems.
"god, you’re fucking stupid."

Griffey and Guillen
I am not a Sox fan, but was at the game today in KC. I thought Griffey’s diving catch was excellent, although the ball held up for him, he came in a long way to get it. And, I don’t know if maybe his leg(s) were already hurting him, but that is about as slow as you will see a major league CF get to a ball on German’s triple. Secondly, didn’t Sox fans think it was a little too quick for Ozzie to pull half of his starters? In a pennant race, against the Royals nonetheless? With the kind of offensive punch you guys have, a 5 run deficit is not the end of the world. Ozzie acted like he was down by a dozen!

maybe he realized that he didn't pull his first starter fast enough and decided to ensure he didn't make the same mistake with his position players.
sweet. let's sign willie mays, too. he’ll suck but it’s willie. fucking. mays.
