Thanks.

I didn’t see anything in the suspended box score about that.

The White Sox are presumably at an advantage the longer this game goes.

fuck.

i mean i think it’s sad that such is the case, but pro sports is a tremendously competitive environment without a ton of payoff for the players. which is why i really like what sheehan said about the draft. we’re screwing the players so we can have fun. that doesn’t seem right.

if you're question is what was bad about steriods use in MLB for reasons other than

the context which allowed it to precipitate:

1. its harmful to your health
2. its illegal

but what i was trying to say is fuck all that, there were much more significant ethical dilemmas in the history of baseball than jose canseco winning the mvp over mike greenwell.

sadly no

but it would give you some insight into how much luck is indeed a factor in this game. having pitched, there was nothing more frustrating than to do my job, get a groundball only to see it hop over a glove for a single. i always thought there were earned runs by the traditional definition and earned runs by my definition. batted ball type and, within that, the relative velocity of the ball off the bat are about all you can sort of control.

I'm talking about your usage of absolutes. Here we go, with no subtlety whatsoever:

OZZIE IS NOT ALWAYS PUTTING HIS PLAYERS IN THE BEST POSITION TO FAIL. IF HE WERE, HIS LINEUP WOULD BE ALL PITCHERS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PAUL KONERKO, WHO WOULD PLAY CENTER.

JIM THOME WOULD START AND BE ASKED TO THROW 200 PITCHES, RELIEVED BY JERRY OWENS AND HIS FANTASTIC ARM.

A.J. PIERZYNSKI WOULD ONLY BE USED AS A PINCH RUNNER.

By speaking in absolutes, you’re ALWAYS guaranteed to be wrong.
