That was truly an awful trade. Kenny turned Aaron Cunningham into half of a decaying Griffey. I guess Junior gets points for providing comedy relief while playing center field.

so he is an idiot/no talent hack. When you win more than you lose, you are better than most. And KW wins more than he loses, some in a big way.
So quit cherry-picking negative occurances to extrapolate a generally negative conclusion when it is not warranted (as in, we are tied for the 4th best record in the AL). I believe your posts would be received better if you balanced out positives and negatives – like, perspective. You have a family, work, pay taxes? Good – act like an adult and present both sides, and I’ll listen. Otherwise, the “we suck” mantra after a loss or two wears thin.

Win some trades, lose some… I’m more concerned with the play since TB last week… I’m also concerned that if we do make the playoffs we have a roster spot being taken by Jr – I guess you could go with fewer pitchers to open a spot for some speed… but that’s not Ozzie

It isn't just one loss...
The Sox are 15-24 against good A.L. teams (Rays, Angels, Red Sox, and Twins). That is a decent sample size of games to get an estimation of this team’s talent level compared to the best teams in the A.L.

who is saying that the Sox are better than Tampa Bay, Anahiem or Boston — anyone? Yet you keep on attacking that strawman, over and over and over and over.
No, the Sox aren’t better than any of the three teams listed above (when healthy), and that 15-20 record is — although a relatively small sample size — most likely an indictment of that. I don’t see what’s so terrible about that record, though — playing at about a .430 winning percentage against three of baseball’s top five teams isn’t anything to be ashamed of.
The knee-jerk bullshit is so fucking tiring.

He was placed on waivers a few days ago and he is only owed a few million for the rest of the season and his buyout for next season. Maybe the Yankees would eat some of it to dump him?

With John Maine a strong possibility to be done for the season because of a shoulder problem, the Mets might be interested in Pavano if the Yankees agree to pick up some of the $3.78 million left on the contract. There is approximately $1.83 million remaining this year and a $1.95 million buyout on his contract.
