Contreras may miss the start of next season?

Jose Conteras suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon during Saturday’s game and will miss the rest of the season.
We were worried about that. Contreras could miss the start of next season with what is typically a 9-12 month injury. The White Sox figure to begin looking for a veteran starter to replace Contreras. Clayton Richard was a bust, and neither Jack Egbert nor Lance Broadway have pitched very well in Triple-A.

Maddux, Washburn, and Byrd have all cleared waivers...

Unfortunately, Maddux wants to stay on the West Coast. Washburn is expensive and Byrd is not very good.

It’s incredible that Logan is still in the majors. He was great in his limited role early on, but he’s now allowed 20 runs - 17 earned - in 12 innings since the beginning of July.
