Does it Really Matter?
Watching the results of this past week has brought home two things, if there is to be a championship in Chicago this season it will have to come from the north siders and the Sox minus Quentin and quality pitching are on par with the Nationals. It doesn’t get any worse than this. At least Quentin won’t have to come back too soon and risk damaging the wrist.
The Twins deserve the Central division, period. Most teams after losing guys like Santana and Hunter would be heading south not north. Hats off to the Twins organisation. The way the Sox have played the past two weeks is nauseating.
Watching the Cubs-Brewers game Friday evening highlighted two contrasting acquisitions that symbolize the two paths the Cubs and Sox have taken, Jim Edmonds and Ken Griffey Jr. Both center fielders both left handers and that’s where the similarities end. To say Griffey has been a boondoggle is an understatement. He has done nothing offensively and cost the club a few games in center field, and I thought Rob Mac was bad! The Cubs picked up Edwards on waivers the Sox actually traded bodies for Griffey, this makes it even sadder. Folk’s it time to swallow the pride and root for the Cubbies.
If by some fluke the Sox force the Monday game with the Tigers I just heard Freddy Garcia will be pitching for the Tigers. Wouldn’t that be an ironic way to end the season!

No, it wouldn't be ironic, there is no "deserved" in baseball, and please GFTO
No fucking White Sox fan ever has to root for the Cubs to win shit when they aren’t playing the AL.
Yea, this team isn’t that good without Quentin and Crede and Contreras, but we fucking knew that. To say that Twins “deserve” the division when they are essentially the same slightly better than mediocre team the Sox are is asinine.
The Griffey trade has sucked, I’ll give you that. But ideally he was always a 4th outfielder, Q’s injury has forced him into an everyday role.
And yea, go look up the meaning of ironic.
Let's look at some or your other fucking retarded ramblings
"The Yanks would have easily surrendered Melky for Garland
Melky OPS+: 68. Might be out of the league in a couple of years.
“Cut Jim Thome.”
Thome OPS+: 124
I leave you with the lineup that should have been,
C: AJ; 1B Konerko; 2B Iguchi; SS Eckstein; 3B Crede
LF Quentin; CF Cabrera; RF Fukedome; DH Dye
Iguchi is probably out of MLB next year after shitting the bed this year. Eckstein has a OPS+ of 81 and he’s like a million years old.
i don't read this dope's posts anymore.
but there’s always good humor in responses to them. solid rebutting. i wouldn’t have let fukudome off the hook but i tip my cap.
i lack the discipline to want it more.
That lineup sucks
Seriously? Like, seriously?

no disagreement on the 'sox minus Q! suck' part
but the ‘twins deserve the central’ and ‘congrats to their organization’ parts are a bunch of BS
both teams are trying to outsuck each other…
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
For what it's worth
I remember reading a couple reports about the Sox inquiring about Edmonds and he wanted no part of playing here. So while you seem to be all ready to hammer KW for acquiring Griffey instead of Edwards, he was already ahead of you, but it’s a little to difficult to get someone to play for you that doesn’t really want to.

Geez, it was just one man's opinion (perhaps uninformed and poorly thought-out).
But thank you, WOH, for offering yourself up as a sacrifice. I think the site needs a focal point for spleen-venting.
