Revive Bartolo Colón; signed with the Chicago White
So surprising, the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday reached an agreement in a year with the Dominican pitcher Bartolo Colón, who seemed destined to retreat.
FoxSports is reporting.
Everything that has yet to pass the physical examination.
Colon, who released 242 tickets for White Sox in 2003, could only pull in 39 innings last year with Boston.
Now competing for a spot in a rotation that has Mark Buehrle, John Danks, Gavin Floyd and José Contreras.
The Red Sox Columbus suspended without pay when the player left the team and went to the Dominican Republic embarrassed because I wanted to use only emerging from the bullpen.
That happened on September 19.
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
anyone know what his velocity was last year?
way too lazy to look it up
larry has that system down to a science. Especially with the way the economy is….big wigs like larry coming in dressed in their mink coats and 24k gold cigarrete holders with pockets lined with coke make for a large draw during shift changes.

91.9mph i think
use the fangraphs link wiz linked in the main paragraph
In exchange, Galindo was to pay Martinez $16,000 and provide him with 160 cases of beer, 100 cases of soda, 50 cases of Gatorade, two cases of wine, and six cases of meat, Greenfield Police Chief Joe Grebmeier told CNN.
That gives you average, but misses the story
He was sitting at about 92-93 in his first few ML starts last year, but was down to the mid-to-high 80’s in the Phillie’s start where he wrenched his back taking some hacks…
AIM: SouthSideCheat
Well we can keep him away from the bats.
Maybe he can return to that level and give the team 10-15 starts.

I can deal with this
Shouldn’t cost much and low risk with a little upside. Please add Pedro or Freddie.

I like that he has Marquez in the Sox rotation over Richard.
WTF. Richard has actually had moments of competence at the major league level. Marquez…I just do not understand what he has done to make himself a viable MLB starter option other than be traded for.

i feel like im the only one that has been for CR
as our 5th starter since the beginning of this offseason.
i hope it happens and that it goes well
He needs a more consistent third pitch
second pitch really… He was never able to establish his change or slider…
At this point, it appears that Richard and Poreda will be in a competition to see who has the more advanced secondary pitches; winner gets a spot in the rotation, loser becomes 2nd lefty and probable 6th-starter/long-man
AIM: SouthSideCheat
If Poreda is on the roster,
I really hope it is as a SP . . . if they aren’t confident with him as SC5 then I would rather see him continuing to develop down in AAA. I just have a feeling that if they put him in the bullpen, he may never leave that role as he could be effective right away and the need to consistently develop the third pitch diminishes significantly.

low risk
no big deal. low cost. low risk. maybe he can eat … some innings and take some heat off the young guys at the back of the rotation (ie richard, marquez, etc.).
worst case he's makes 5 starts and goes home
seems like a fine move as long as it’s not over 2 million or so.
buster olney's worst-case senario?
Cabrera seemingly has the most value, but he is 34 years old and his selfish style of play with the Sox last season has likely hurt his value.
In retrospect, Cabrera is probably kicking himself for declining salary arbitration from the White Sox after the 2008 season. Based on his $9 million salary from last year, Cabrera would have likely been bumped up to $10 million for a one-year deal.
The Blue Jays and Marlins have shown some interest in Cabrera, but any team that signs the "Type A" free agent owes the Sox a high draft pick.

So they can turn around and trade him to the Yankees and we get screwed out of a draft pick? This is a joke right?
So, if I am reading the two options correctly . . .
we can either a) keep dye or b) trade dye . . . is that you Phil Rogers?

Im curious about this years draft class.
Who are the guys that we should be watching? By the end of the 2007 season we had already been talking about Pedro Alvarez and our draft position for a good month. The 2008 season has left us thinking more about 2009 than the future of the farm and team but Im just wondering about future prospects at the moment.
