The Challenge Continues
As promised yesterday, here is the new quiz containing the starting lineups from 1980-1999. This will be the last one of these on the front page, but I'll try to keep thinking of ones for the right rail all off-season. Enjoy.

1988 you typo'd greg walker
i cant believe i forgot kenny williams, albert belle and tom fucking seaver.
i had 78/199 (greg wslker doesnt count in mine eyes) before cheating.
i was only alive for 12 of these seasons, and im not counting september of ’87.

some corrections on names
I was wondering why I couldn’t get these:
Claudell Washington (not Claude Washington)
Marc Hill (not Mar Hill)
Greg Walker (not Greg Wslker)
Bill (not Bob) Almon

I haven’t thought of Eddie Williams since, well, since he was on the roster.

A fun quiz for us 80's/90's kids
I started following the team in 1990 (thanks grade school perfect attendance tickets!). Forgot about Carlos Martinez, Melido Perez (and his rain shortened no-hitter), Tim Huelett, and all of those other scrubs that fell short of the A’s that year.

I got 178-200 (giving myself a point for the walker misspelling)
Biggest disappointments were Melido Perez, Tom Seaver, Tim Huelett, Lyle Mouton and Luis Salazar. I kept thinking russ morman was in….
Most of my misses though were pre 1983.

I wonder if any former sox player could even get above 50%
I mean, one who played with the sox in the 80’s or 90’s.

can’t believe i forgot cora and navarro. born in 87, didn’t even see a white sox game til the 2000 playoffs, and didn’t live in chicagoland til 02, so i think i did pretty ok.

This is outside my skillset
’91 was the first year I was more than a casual observer…
Got 128/200 trying to get everything from ‘91 on… misspelled jamie navarro and DJ… which would have pushed me into the 130’s …. proudest of getting Chris Sabo… and Alex Fernandez was the only one that made me go DUH (I was blanking on his name)
Charlie O’brien was the one name that made me go “WHO?” though, admittedly, ’98 was a bit of a lost summer for me

all of this certainly explains why your editorial performance has been subpar.
ZiPS had you at 60 front page stories for the year. while i thought that was aggressive and subscribed more to PECOTA’s expectation of 52, you’ve certainly fallen far short of all prediction systems (except KW4LFPS, of course). wrist injuries linger so i guess we can expect more shit for at least another year.

Jay Leno said that World Peace is more likely than the White Sox winning the World Series during his interview with Michelle Obama. Jag.

i don't see any issue with that. seems like neither of them we would to sit that long for an interview.

About as likely as a FX show about motorcycle gangs beating Leno in the ratings?
Oh.

79/200 ...
Harold Baines was the only one I got for the 1980s season. I had read about Chet Lemon before but couldn’t remember his name for the quiz.
Also good thing that a lot of current coaches played for sox during those years.
Lupe, release the balloons!

108/200
Knew every catcher except 80. failed on Walker, Williams and Seaver. Still kicking myself for not knowing Sax. Got entire 93 team and most of 92/94. Strike made me not watch for 7 years, so missing most of those and the first half of the 80s makes me feel okay.

Got 124 which I'm okay with for an '87er
Only ones I’m pissed about are Mags, Calderon, Luzinski, and Tony Phillips.
I got the 3rd most obscure player, Jeff Abbott, as I was thinking of Abbot, Jim
