Greg Walker knows he should have been fired: "Look, I know if I was in a normal situation I probably would have been fired after this year. But I also know that we have accomplished a lot. I know that if you watch this game on a daily basis there are things to point fingers at because this is a game of failure.

"I think over the years we built up a enough good will and accomplished things that people don't realize. But we have underachieved the last few years. I think [general manager] Kenny [Williams], [manager] Ozzie [Guillen] and [board chairman] Jerry [Reinsdorf] know the reasons, and they know I'm the right man for the job. Last year happened and it would have cost a lot of hitting coaches their jobs, but there is a lot of trust there. I don't take that lightly.

"I've done this for seven years and I think for those seven years we've underachieved two of them. Even those years we did underachieve we went about our business the right way. When they decide it's someone else's turn then it will be someone else's job.''

I can’t change FanShot type, so since I wanted to post the meat of the quote on the FP, I made a new one.

I like a guy owning up to his shortcomings.

But what is a “normal situation?”
We were competing for the division this season…
maybe that is where the “abnormal” comes in?

dang.

I was hoping this was about the cheat after reading your comment headline.

The other ten percent I'll probably waste."

Hi- I'm Dr. Lizardo! Since you seem to be new here...

Let me show you around.

Over here, are the bitter old men who are grumpy at everything, and are scared of these new-fangled interwebs and tweats, and things that blink and flash, and recall the old glory days of 1959, and think the current players are overpriced crybabies with no testicles.

On this side, you have the young hipsters, who live for the snide comment, the whoosh, the FIAL, the mean spiteful crack at someone or something else. This dissaffected youth crave new and novel, only so they can tear down to feel superior and better about themselves.

Having said that, both sides will crap profusely over any and everything that anyone else does, without regard to race, creed, color, gender, or orientation, with equal parts glee and malice, all the while high-fiving and fist-bumping each other. It is just who we are. In fact, we live for the opportunity to discuss ANYTHING excretory- be it bricks, the cub-equivalency, the Bristol chart, etc… sadly our world revolves around our sphincters.

Dont let that stop you, we thank you for the new and novel, for the reasons previously established.

So then… about that Mad Men recap- got an ETA for us? :)

You look him square in the eye and tell him "Yes Sir, the check is in the mail"

I guess he did win a World Series

It could be worse like my favorite college basketball team Depaul. 0-18, 0 and fucking 18 in conference and Wainwright still has a fucking job.

Fuck that I still wish he was fired.

Hey -- they'll likely be better than Marquette this year.

although that’s not an indictment of Marquette — we just landed a five-star recruit for next year. Five star! And his name is Vander Blue! How sweet is that?

(Double-exclamation-point sweet, apparently.)

KenWo as hitting coach:

AIDA. Get mad you son-of-a-b****. Get mad! You know what it takes to hit a baseball? It takes brass balls to hit a baseball. Go and do likewise, gents. The hits are out there, You pick them up, they’re yours, you don’t, I got no sympathy for you. You want to go out on those AB’s tonight and hit, hit, they’re yours, if not, you’re going to be shining my shoes. And you know what you’ll be saying. Bunch of losers sitting around in a bar: ‘’Oh yeah, I used to be a baseball player. It’s a tough racket.’’

Wait a minute...

Maybe KenWo IS Walker…

KenWo CLAIMS to be a teacher… A coach is like a teacher…
KenWo had a prolific career as a “kid”… Greg Walker played baseball, presumably also as a kid…

I think we’ve seen all the evidence we need to see.

Einhorn is Finkel, Finkel is Einhorn.

Oh yes, I just blew your mindssssssss.

Exactly!

That’s what I’m saying! KenWo is just a cover-up for Walker infiltrating the site and slowly gaining our trust! OF COURSE KenWo is going to call for Walker to get fired. That’s the perfect way to throw us off!!!

KenWowalker… you crafty sonofabitch you!!!
