Nancy Faust to retire after 2010 season
Nancy Faust, beloved fixture as the White Sox organist for 40 years, says she will be playing her swan song at the end of the 2010 season.
"It won't be easy, but the timing is just right to move on," Faust said. "Next year will be my 41st season. Never did I imagine that I would be saying that.

Noooo!!!!
I love games with Nancy! Playing the “why did she play that” for the opposing hitters was a great part of the game… sad they cut her back in recent years for canned crap music.

Game 163...who ya got?
Baker @ Home seems to be the call…anyone see it differently?
by Q!'s Qrew on Oct 6, 2009 7:04 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I'm pulling for the Tigers.
Give the twins another loss in a 163…that would be great. Plus the Tigers got Magglio…and I like Magglio. I also think the Tigers have a 2 percent chance at beating the Yankees while the Twins have 0 chance.

Twinks.
It’s the Dome, and Porcello has sucked against the Twinks anyway. I’d be stunned if he made it out of the 5th.

he hasnt really sucked against them
May 5 – 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Jul 5 – 4.0 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Sep 18 – 6.0 IP,8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Sep 29 – 6.1IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Granted, his two worse outings were in the dome….
If you’re looking at the matchup, Baker is the one who has sucked vs DET

I'm gonna risk "You da mannination" but I want Minnesota
I am not in the mood for five days of “Detroit needs this, blah, blah, blah.”
You already got a sneak preview of the Detroit pity party during the Final Four.
The people who can afford to go to playoff baseball games, or any other blue chip sporting event are not the poor working stiffs who need something to distract them from their uncertain job prospects. The people in the Detroit metro area (because they sure as hell don’t live in the city) who probably have their playoff tickets paid for are the people who drove the auto industry into the ground.
Go Pirahnas. Go Mauer, and Casilla, and Carlos Gomez, and Cuddles, and lil’ Nicky Punto. Anything to keep Bob Seger and Kid Rock from singing to GM and Chrysler executives at Comerica Park.

i understand that you can listen to games on the radio.
they may even have television in detroit, too.
by larry on Oct 6, 2009 12:08 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
They do.
But they don’t have hope. Hopefully Miguel Cabrera will stagger out of the dugout, hit a dinger, and give the people of Wayne County something to cheer for.

I rooting for the Twins too.
Mostly because the 4-pack of Tiger fans sitting by us at the last home game were such assholes I want them to feel some(more) misery.
Even people who love it, hate it. Well, how else can you feel about playing baseball in a football stadium with plastic grass, a baseball-colored roof, an echo and a giant glad trash bags just beyond the fence? How else can you feel about going to the ballpark on a beautiful July day in Minneapolis - there aren’t many seasons in America as beautiful as Minnesota summers - and then finding yourself watching something resembling baseball in this dank building with all the romance of a bank vault. -Joe Pos on HHMetrodome

3O% of Detroit can watch TV all the time. Lucky bastards!

3,8,23 and 35 are my numbers.
I play the 4 of them religiously. Harold, Al Belle, MJ and JD and Big Frank! If I am playing a few more I throw some on 22 for Ivan Calderon.
Pretty classy eh?

2 week xmas vacay, 1 week spring break, 12 paid holidays – and you still get to take a day off for the casino?….Priceless

Yah its not bad! I actually had some errands to run early…. then dropped my son off at day care for the first time and felt REALLY shitty about it since he was crying. So i figured I should do something that I wouldn’t normally do on a day off since I have the kid….which narrowed the choices to the nudie bar or the casino. I made the best choice! :)

I spend a lot of days with my kid.
I have to take him the next 2 days early so I wanted to get the hang of the “procedures” so I took him today….. and I was told by my wife and mother in law that he likes going. Once I brought him in, I had to leave him no matter what because if he cries and gets his way once he is going to cry to get his way every time.
