Dotel slipped to a B also.
Would have been an interesting decision on arbitration if he was an A.

not that it likely matters
but guerrier’s season wasn’t over yet and he had a weak outing, not to mention that this guy hasn’t been perfect with his estimations in the past.

and, indeed
he projects guerrier to have fallen and dotel to be the last A.

so with dotel as 'A', my assumption would be that the sox decline arb
and hope some team snags him…but is that likely?

you mean sox offer arbitration?
seems risky to do so. he’d get more money in arbitration than he would otherwise. from dotel’s perspective, financially, accepting arbitration would be a no-brainer.

no, i mean the sox would decline offering dotel arbitration.
my concern would be there aren’t a large pool of teams that could use his services with the draft picks to give up.

If the sox decline, they receive no compensation.
As an ‘A’ for Dotel, his market value drops so you would think his agent would advise him to accept arbitration.

I'm interested to see how much Johnson is going to get
if it’s only a two year commitment — perhaps a deal similar to Burrell’s from last year? — I think I’d like to see the Sox go after him for DH. Him hitting leadoff ahead of Beckham would be pretty sweet.
