why is this turning into Watergate all of a sudden? Didn’t the Twins have bases loaded with nobody out and still couldn’t push a run across.
Gardy looked like a complete buffoon in his presser by answering the question with a question of his own. I don’t know, maybe if the great fundamentally sound Minnesota Twins just lifted a flyball in the outfield, they would’ve scored their precious run.

The call was blown, yes. It’s also an extreme leap of faith to think the inning would’ve gone exactly to plan if Mauer’s double was allowed.
I didn’t hear Eck, Wells, Ripken, or any other media mouth mention once, “well they still had bases loaded and nobody out, so it’s not like its all Cuzzi’s fault on this one.”
