Miller excluded from HoF (again)

For the idiots who say that the hall of fame is meant for those who played the game, well, it's not. Owners and execs can get in, like Bowie f'n Kuhn, so Marvin Miller should, it's as simple as that.

If Miller doesn't like the result of the committee's vote, he should boycott baseball.

Or maybe go on a hunger strike. Hold his breath until he turns blue in the face. Fuck him. What did he ever do for the game of baseball? You can argue about his influence on changing the business of baseball, so maybe he belongs in the union hall of fame or some such organization.

so he’s the lawyer who ensured that the pirates will never finish above .500 again.

I'm as anti-union as the next guy,

but he surely helped shift the game to the 20th century re: players rights and opening up the game. Whether or not you agree with the reserve clause you have to admit he helped change the game. Bowie Kuhn is a POS. Miller is a mensch.

exactly...while it's easy to blame the owners who are the committee for the snub, most players in this recent era don't know shit about history...the present times are a lot different from times of curt flood, at least from what i've read

I think that struggle helped kill Flood at a young age,

just as it helped kill Jackie. (And I, in my heart of hearts, think it did the same to Sweetness, if you read the stuff he endured growing up. But my judgment might be cloudy.)
