Craziest/Best/Worst Winter Meetings White Sox Rumors

I think this is an appropriate section for this week to post the most insane, best, non sensical rumors you hear or can think of for this week. So post your Paul Konerko for Kotchman and Figgins Phil Rogers fueled rumors here. I'd like to have a central point of all the rumors to look back on at the end of the offseason just to see how dumb or accurate they were. Plus, we can avoid all of the dead horse pictures in the normal threads and post them here if you so desire.

i heard that the sox

are going to trade flowers for gio gonzales then package gonzales with konerko and hudson in a trade for matt halliday so they will have exclusive bargaining rights with him.

but seriously, i’m just going sit back and wait to see what happens because when it comes down to it all you really need is the phil rogers plus/minus system.

go here. it is the blog entry in which mr. rogers attempts to “clarify” his system only to be unmercifully beat down in the comments by the general public who explain to him in no uncertain terms that in fact the problem with his system is not that people do not understand what he is positing but rather that they are in complete disbelief that such a theory not only entered into the mind of a human being but was then printed in a prominent newspaper.

i saw

the trib did delete it because i have searched for it in the past. I found part II of the article where he had to explain himself again but that was not nearly as entertaining.

I love the small time guys who make up rumors in hopes they get followed by the major rumor sites. some of those types are usually the best.

Crawford for Quentin

Sources with Tampa Bay and the Sox said the sides had talked several times this offseason, not only checking out closer Bobby Jenks and his availability in a deal, but more specifically a trade that would have sent Carlos Quentin to the Rays for Carl Crawford.

wouldnt an upton for quentin

deal make a lot more sense financially and in terms of how many years they have each under control? tampa probably prefers to deal crawford though because hes almost certain to leave after this year.
