physicals and medical records.
amazing things, these. reveal if a player is currently injured and what another team knows about that player. i know, i know – how would a team ever be able to utilize such things?
White Sox Outsider 2009 is the greatest book about the White Sox, published in 2009, and written by a guy who likes hanging around statues. Ever.
What a tool.
He implies its Kenny’s fault.

" That just makes me want to puke all over your head, sir."
I don’t think he does, but you are right, Law is a tool.

Maybe I do read too much into it
because I don’t care for the guy, but I’ve seen him make mention of this in the past.

i bet keith law loves the stimulus.
whatever happened to caveat emptor? one would think someone dropping millions of dollars plus other assets on something would due a little due diligence first. and, if they don’t, wouldn’t whine about it later.

Was Law with the Jays during the Sirotka trade? Sounds like he was from his complaining
the guy was a middling front office paper pusher who parlayed that into a full time gig writing about prospects. Not a bad career, but not something that has much brilliant insight either.
i would look up his biography. but i don't care.

yep
In 2002, Law was hired by the Toronto Blue Jays as a “Consultant to Baseball Operations” after impressing Blue Jays’ general manager J. P. Ricciardi during the offseason winter meetings.4 After Paul DePodesta recommended Law to him, Ricciardi asked Law’s opinions regarding the approaching Rule 5 draft of that year, and, impressed with Law’s answers and explanations, offered him a position with the team.5 During his time with the Blue Jays, he acted as a scout, contract negotiator, and provided assistance to the team’s marketing and sales staffs.2 Law reached the position of Special Assistant to the GM before resigning in 2006.6

yeah, my mistake - trade went down in 01
but i’d imagine there was still some organizational bitterness lingering when law came on board

for serious
these are businesses right? competing against each other?
Sober, I was appalled at the women. Drunk I was told I danced with them all.
independent of kenny's unique stylings
i.e., past deals that still make you scratch your head sometimes AND his occasional trigger happiness , do you think he is taken less seriously by below ave gm’s and commentators b/c of race?

I don't think so, at least by fellow baseball "insiders"
If anything I’d have to believe it was the new wave of theory and saber guys like J.P., Beane and Epstein who were not taken seriously. As a former player KW has instant cred in the insider world of baseball, african american or otherwise.
yeah, wasn't kenny once quoted mocking the use of vorp

well, wilder was basically quoted in the NYTs refering to some version of WARP
that the Sox use specifically regarding the Thome trade.
With Wilder in the wings I think the Sox are in great shape once KW decides to hang it up. Assuming he doesn’t get swept out from under the Sox.
Law should focus his article on the historically pathetic track record of the Texas Rangers on player health care. Gettysburg had fewer injuries than the Ranger organization in the past two decades.
Not to mention that their quality quacks would turn their eyes elsewhere when half of the roster was in a toilet stall shooting up roids in the early 90s.
No, McCarthy would be best served to ask for a trade to an organization that would develop him properly. This is not on Kenny Williams. I have a lot to criticize Williams about, but he is not a horse trader.
The Irish Bulldog Has Spoken...
I would use Andersonville as your comparison point
if you are going Civil War. More compelling.
the post wasn't for you. fuck off.
