Kenny Willaims on PEDs: "There are guys in previous generations who are really outspoken on it, and there's a certain hypocrisy in it," Williams told MLB.com while sitting on a golf cart near one of the White Sox practice fields at Camelback Ranch. "Let's say you are talking the '70s and the '80s, then you are talking there was a lot of amphetamines usage as a performance enhancer.

"So, if you are one of those guys -- and I've heard guys that I know did that type of thing -- criticizing the guys doing the state-of-the-art thing in the mid-'80s into the '90s and [next decade], OK, well, it's a little hypocritical.

"You know, I just don't feel like I have the right in my life to be so judgmental about others," Williams said. "Everybody that's walked the face of the Earth has their share of baggage one way or another. We all have to live with our own individual lives."

I recently watched the documentary

Bigger, Faster, Stronger.
It’s a little bit of a slow start / longer than it should be but, all in all a fairly decent flick. It presents a lot of information (some real and some bull).

I think with all the “performance enhancers” around it is inevitable that we have all done it.

People take things for joint pain. Is that performance enhancing? Beta blockers for performers…. performance enhancing…. Tiger Woods has Lasik surgery…. Performance Enhancing?

State of the art medicine is performance enhancing. I realize that steroids are a line that shouldn’t be crossed but, it seems to me a huge area of gray with “supplements”.

It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

Hoytsstash agrees with the "supplements" issue

it seems the question of late is “will this come up on a test?”…..
With the advent of personal trainers, new workout techniques, and “explosiveness” concentration professional athletes have indeed entered a relatively new age in the past 8-10 years….
Like “One-Nut Kruk” said on ESPN radio, everybody knew what was going on, now the problem has surfaced….
American sports has taken a “Roman” turn….They are entertainers. Innocence has given way to results and shattering expectations in an astounding manner. We are Americans, bigger, better, faster….immediacy. Most can not relate to the professional athlete these days in regard to skill, income, and lifestyle….. should we be surprised? Right or wrong, its real.

It was fun to see Old Comiskey...and the 92,000+ crowds in LA, which would be

about double the capacity at The Cell.

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

spray should be less of an issue for a right handed hitter.

at least if we’re talking effect on BABIP

Joe Cowley on WSCR this morning

noted that Dayan Viciedo showed up in Glendale in a tricked out Land Rover.

Ozzie, impressed with the vehicle, has nicknamed Viciedo “The Cuban Pimp.”

OT (again, sorry) - ARoid

At his press conference yesterday, ARoid said his one regret in his career (I suppose in addition to shooting up with street PEDs from the DR) was going directly from high school into professional baseball and skipping college.

To that I say…bwaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaa! Does he think we’re buying this load of crap? Not that I care anymore…I just love his audacity in thinking that anyone would fall for his “I was young and stupid” rhetoric in a desperate attempt to keep himself from being excluded from the HOF.

I disagree completely with KW, we do not have to live our own lives

Quite the contrary, we all have to live other peoples’ lives as they live ours until it’s just one never ending cluster fuck of everybody living lives that are not their own and then one day we all get stuck in the proverbial tubes of the internets and it all explodes like some really runny diarrhea.

That, or the economy serves as the water in the toilet bowl that is our universe and carries the diarrhea that is our humanity down the shitter only serving to squirt out in a larger, more open cesspool, the water treatment plant.

Clearly, it had to be said. And yes, I’m am happy that I just wasted 30 seconds of your time.

You are right. But larry is actually a prick too.

Wow, so much optimism in the Golden State.

What, are you getting an IOU as a paycheck these days? Or is it because your taxes are going up (already the highest in the nation)? If so, I prefer not to live your life, for at least the next couple of years anyway.

Ain’t life grand?

Nope, just really had to take a dump

And the “we all have to live our own lives” bit is funny to me in the same way as “today is the first day of the rest of your life”. Gold, Jerry, Gold!

Otherwise, life has been excellent and I don’t mind paying taxes, for the record.

Recently, I have been quite frustrated by the hypocrisy of politicians from a certain party on both the national and state levels, but I can (and will) bitch about that through other channels.

You are right. But larry is actually a prick too.
