Input for my next series
For my next series (after I actually get around to completing the All-Time list), I plan on doing something sort of like what they had been doing over at Camden Chat. They took 16 indivuidual season teams from their franchise history and pitted them against one another by using the simulator over at What If? Sports. They based their teams on each being the best team a manager fielded in his O's career. I would like to make ours a little more user-based. So what I would like you guys to do is for each person (out of the first 16 people to pick) to choose a season from franchise history. This will be your team in the tournement. I will then put the 16 years into a hat and draw to randomize the seeding. I will run the sims, type up recaps, and we will work our way into the regular season from there. The first two rounds will be best of five and the final two rounds will be best of seven. So go ahead and pick which year you want your team to be. After 16 years have been picked, we will have our field and I'll get down to starting to run the simulations.
And you can't pick 1994.
Because I already did.

72 is all yours
83 is still open
But Frank Thomas was always his own guy, he always lived by some sort of code that wasn’t especially clear to anyone but him.
Hoytsstash takes '83 .........

It's a vastly undercovered era
I thought about taking 93, but I’m curious about how that team managed to win 90+ games every year with nearly zero offense. It’ll be interesting to see how the players fit together in a sim, or if they don’t.
EVERYBODY PICK US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO
Sox Machine
I'll take the 2000 edition

absolutely
as long as two names fit on the trophy when 77 wins it all.
I'm like a laser, six-string razor. I've got a mouth like an alligator
Thanks! Great year, McCuddy's still open...
Most fun season for attending games ever for me. Enjoyment level equalled/surpassed only by last year.
If they win the trophy you can put your name on it. Pass it forward and all that…

1920 team
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHW/1920.shtml
4 20-game winners
eddie collins .372/.438/.383
shoeless joe .382/.444/.589
happy felsch .338/.384/.540
plug them in ugod!
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
2008?
Has this not been picked yet? Also, how does this system take injuries from that season into account? If I could get a full year of Contreras and Q! I don’t think that team would be all that bad. Also instead of Swisher can I use KW’s evaluation of what BA would have done that year as a full time player?
2 spots left

I'll go with 1997
if there is room. That team had talent… unfortunately injuries ruined it before it started

If anyone else wants in, feel free to replace my '86 team. It was literally the worst White Sox team I ever saw.

'95 was more disappointing, but the '86 team was infinitely worse.
Three words: Hawk was GM.

I still contend that that ranks with the construction of the Great Wall and the moon landing as mankind's greatest achievements.
Seriously, I have no idea how that was even remotely possible.
