GLENDALE, Ariz. – The White Sox have set their pitching schedule for the first three days of the exhibition season, pending the status of D.J. Carrasco’s right pitching hand that was struck by a line drive from Alexei Ramirez in batting practice Saturday.
Left-hander Clayton Richard and Jeff Marquez will face the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
Gavin Floyd will start Thursday against Colorado in Tucson, followed by Carrasco, Jack Egbert and Lance Broadway. Mark Buehrle will throw a bullpen session on the same day.
John Danks will make his Cactus League debut Friday against Arizona at Tucson Electric Park. Reliever Adam Russell also is scheduled to pitch.
Left-hander Aaron Poreda, the Sox’s No. 1 pick in 2007, will start against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a split-squad game at Camelback Ranch. Scott Linebrink and Bobby Jenks are scheduled to follow Poreda.
