Note to Ozzie: Forget the leadoff man, love the long ball
Jim gives some helpful, unsolicited roster and lineup construction advice to Ozzie.
No. 1: Bat Getz first against righties and Fields first against lefties.
No. 2: Start Anderson in center three out of four days and bat him eighth or ninth.
No. 3: Bat Quentin second, load up on power and make no apologies.

And the crazy thing is, he's right!
Good work, Jim, even if your blog doesn’t really exist.
You are right. But larry is actually a prick too.

Man, that guy is hilarious! I should really bookmark that site..... ;)
(It’s equally back-asswards in marketing terms. Wouldn’t it be ridiculous for the Sox to choose…
White Sox Baseball: Please tolerate our roster construction for one more year!
or

…for their 2009 slogan? Well, they already have.)

BP's AL central roundup
What they say about the sox basically boils down to “KW is rebuilding”, but I found this note about Punto amusing:
What cost far more while making less sense was the need to spend $8.5 million to replace Everett with two years of Juan Castro Nick Punto, who will have to surpass last year’s 90th-percentile PECOTA to approach his 2.8 WARP
PECOTA clearly underestimates the impact of the PUNTO-SLIDE.
White Sox: Trying to roll a hard six.
no rushing with Getz at leadoffs
Let’s face it, start of the season more than likely is bound to be shaky… too many new faces in the infield, 4-5 starter problems, etc. I say don’t start Getz leadoff, let him see some major league pitching and then do roster “shake up” where ozzie will bleep every living thing, move Getz to leadoff, and we will be clicking!

Konerko for leadoff!
At least one guaranteed at bat a game where its impossible for him to hit into a DP.
Thome is one of the top 20 at avoiding DPs.

White Sox's Colon sharp in latest outing
White Sox pitcher Bartolo Colon threw 31 of 44 pitches for strikes in a three-inning performance Friday against Texas’ Class-A team.
Colon was much sharper than his first outing Monday against Kansas City. His fastball was clock at 87 mph. Pitching coach Don Cooper didn’t rule out Colon being ready by opening day.
“We’re still hoping for that and everything seem to be pointing in that direction,” Cooper said after Colon faced 18 batters. “But we have alternatives if he doesn’t. We have guys like (Clayton) Richard and guys like that if we feel he isn’t throwing the ball quite up to snuff, we’ll make the decision. If he needs more time, we’ll give him more time, but right now, we’re on schedule.”
Colon allowed no runs on two hits. He struck out four and hit one batter. At one point Colon threw 20 consecutive strikes.
