Is Mark Buehrle Healthy? Sox Say Yes
Mark Buehrle will not make his scheduled start in Thursday’s game against Arizona.
But before the conspiracy theorists continue pointing fingers in the direction of the White Sox southpaw and his health, the club went out of its way to explain the change in Buehrle’s updated pitching calendar.
"We’re going to take care of Buehrle, meaning we’re not going to pile up innings, we’re not going to pile up work," pitching coach Don Cooper said Tuesday morning. "He’ll be in line for the opener [on April 6]."

but if he's so healthy, why was he taking the needle?
However, a major-league source said that there were concerns with Buehrle — as far as back as the Winter Meetings —heading into the 2009 campaign, especially in the wake of the starting pitcher "having to take the needle more than a few times last year.’’
or was he really taking the needle? so many mysteries! so many aspersions! so much cowley!

Mark Teahen doesn't care in MB needles or not:
Teahen has faced Mark Buerhelrehrleehlhre (I will never learn, on priciple, how to spell this name) a career most 45 times, and has hit him to the tune of a .419/.444/.628 line.
Sweet, I better start upping the suck.

Colon "toes" nothing. That implies a nimbleness akin to a Nureyev. I beleive he "platypussed" the shit out of that mound.

Nate Silver alleges he's human, asks staff for help.
However, another reason why PECOTA has tended to be burdensome to produce is because it’s a program designed by a non-programmer (me): a lot of the code is poorly written, and very little of it is automated. More problematically, because the code is not well documented, I was probably the only person on the planet who knew how to sift my way through it. Thus, its timely production relied on my pulling 100-hour weeks and getting really hopped up on Red Bull and reheated Thai food, something I was strangely happy to do in the past, but simply didn’t have the ability to do this year.
100 hour weeks. Nate, you are Hoss Radbourn.

chill, man. colin was on garden duty last week at the co-op, man, and first, like, the hoe broke and colin had to fix it. but, like, they don't go to the hardware store because that's the man. so colin had to make a new hoe.
but that’s hard and takes up his hulu time. so colin’s been real busy. we should totally just nationalize the newspapers and run them, like, as a group. HSA can write the headlines, colin will do the interviews, ballyb will do the weather…come on guys, i’m stoked, this would be awesome.

You know...
you have to worry about the motivation of a guy who already says he is going to retire at the conclusion of his contact.

clearly he'd rather be home
why do you think he pitches so quickly?

Better than the guy who would rather be in Puerto Rico than pitch in the play-offs.
Have fun with that Atlanta. Enjoy having a gutless pitcher in September…

Javy is probably going to dominate the NL this year
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was in the talks for NL Cy Young. Except that people who leave the Sox usually immediately break down or suck completely. KW has a good track record of knowing exactly how long to keep a player.
There was an incident a few years ago. The Bulls were killing the Knicks, scrubs were playing out the clock, and the fans were screaming at them to score 100 points for free Big Macs. They took a ton of shots, Knicks took offense and they tried to fight some Bulls players.

Hmmmm
‘m not a cheesehead. I’m just a Badger. I love the Bears, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks. Why? Because I’m from Chicago.
But, this exchange was still funny.
Confusion breeds success. If they don't know each other, opponents can't have strategy. GENIUS.
