White Sox’s Ramirez hurts left knee

TEMPE, Ariz. – White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez hurt his left knee while sliding into home plate Monday while scoring in the top of the third inning against the Los Angeles Angels but suffered only a cut.

Ramirez limped off the field in obvious pain after sliding into Angels catcher Mike Napoli following an errant throw from shortstop Erick Aybar. Ramirez’s pant leg was rolled up to reveal the wound.

Brent Lillibridge took over for Ramirez in the bottom of the third. Ramirez went into the clubhouse with trainer Herm Schneider and conditioning director Allen Thomas but seemed to walk without much discomfort.

On my drive to Aurora today

I was laughing at how much Lawerene Holmes (who seems like a good guy btw) was over dramatizing the Sox problems. After this game.. not so much.

Don’t get me wrong, they can still compete if things go right. But there are alot of question marks this season obviously. That being said, I’m willing to have a bad season or two if it will yield results down the road.
