is the dark filling ham?
is there a special name for it?
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

Please continue to repeat today's performance for the rest of the season Bart
It would be appreciated around here

i had a revelation last night
BA = brad komminsk
by Hatchetm on Apr 11, 2009 6:31 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
and their minor league records were, shall we say, somewhat different.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=kommin001bra
keep revelating.

i don't know how to make the similar symbol.
they are pretty similar, but komminsk had that one monster year in the minors.
by Hatchetm on Apr 11, 2009 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
i'd say he had three great years.
those numbers are far superior to anything BA did, especially considering his age.

play karnac
who will have a better career?
by Hatchetm on Apr 11, 2009 7:15 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
BA, i think.
if BA could learn to take a walk like komminsk did, we might have something.

Macky D lives to play another day...
And the win was most satisfying indeed.
Very nice team effort.

i don't know what the boss thinks, but i wonder if a recap just shouldn't go under this post.
maybe going forward we immediately throw up a quick picture recap for post-game discussion and fill in a word recap later, if we feel like it?

JW, but what if you editors just wrote bullet point recaps within these threads
And, if there was a need to address a larger issue, then write a separate story. I like having all the comments from the end of one game to the beginning of another in the same thread.
That Steve Nash is exactly the same as Kirk Hinrich, but worse.

excellent idea
I was gonna say that with all the new editors (for the better!) its been more work following the comments — sometimes 3 or 4 active threads at once. this would help that.

4 and 1/3 with 6 runs on 6 hits for our good friend Horacio Ramirez
Swisher 2-2 with a 3B, HR, 3 runs and 3 RBI

I just picked up Swisher off the waiver wire last night, too bad I didn't start him today
My usual 1B Tex was a late scratch with a bad left wrist. He’s day to day. Shit.

at least lillibridge gets it.
execution…well…
Lillibridge became the third leadoff hitter in five games. It was not only the first time he batted first in a big-league game but the first time he started at second base.
“The biggest thing with leadoff is the misconception that’s there’s a certain way to be a leadoff hitter,” he said. "It’s about getting on base. What’s the difference if it’s a walk or a hit?

I like his lucid statement from the following paragraph
The stress of taking pitches is taking away from things that take away from what makes aggressive hitters good.

Completely agree with this statement
Some of the best leadoff hitters aren’t your cookie cutter, Kenny Williams-esque dream, leadoff hitters. They could be the ones that the get me over first pitch to get on base, no need to “make the pitcher work”. That being said, I don’t think Lillibridge is our answer at leadoff, unless he or Getz can play centerfield. I hope Getz gets back in the leadoff spot and gets aggressive.

PPB, so far I'm ahead:
C+C: 1-1
P-S: 1-0.
Yeah, I’m using W-L. Shoot me.
Fire up those PP’s. Smoltz is coming soon.
I'll say it SSH be quiet

Was out all day, but watched the archived game (didn't check score or nothin') when I got home....
Bartolo – awesome.
Q! – He Is Risen!
Letting Liriano walk us in some runs – satisfying.
Punto not making the throw to get out BA at 1st – eat it, bitch.
Great game.
...and then some depressed fucked-cake eating.
