Dotel asks for, receives a hug from President Obama

"I saw the opportunity to ask for a hug," Dotel said after the team returned to its Baltimore hotel. "He said, 'Of course.' that was really nice of him. He knows a lot about us. He noticed that we've been playing well lately. He's a big fan. I can tell he really enjoyed (the visit)."

But not as much as Dotel, a native of the Dominican Republic.

"It was like I won the World Series," Dotel said. "I was nervous and sweating. But it was a great moment, I'm telling you."

I saw the game and was devastated

but I did not see any situation in the end where a timeout could have helped.
Sure he used them up, but they were used in more important situations during the beginning of the game.

Thomas has no jump shot which was why he was not in the game at the end.

Did Vinny will that losing shot in? Obviously not, but the point is I really don’t get all of this Vinny hate. He has done a great job for a first year coach, starting with three unproven commodities, (Rose, Noah, Thomas) and had to deal with an old team falling apart. The trades at the deadline helped and he put this team together and already got a playoff win.

If he had a timeout at the end of the game they could have put the ball at half court.

Wouldn’t need to inbound the ball the length of the floor. With the way the game was going, whoever took the last shot between Gordon and Allen was going to win the game. Vinny refused to let that be the Bulls by using all the timeouts so he couldn’t advance the ball. However, I will acknowledge that he is a first year coach and should get better in subsequent seasons, I’m more perplexed as to why his experienced Assistant Coaches couldn’t figure this shit out.

Not that I know anything, but here’s my list of VDN stupidity:

1) You could see Miller had nothing left in his legs at the end of the game. Tyrus would have had a much better shot chasing down that 1 damn rebound they needed.

2) To the uneducated observer (me), it appears the Bulls run no organized offense. Seriously. They constantly look surprised by what happens when they have the ball in the half-court.

3) Also, no defense. They were bad at that last year as well, so maybe that’s not on Vinny but he certainly hasn’t made them better.

4) Constant desire to go small throughout the season.

5) Excessive use of veterans (cough..Tim Thomas) in various games throughout the season.

VDN is just garbage...

This isn’t new, he’s been sabotaging this team all season. He’s a fucking disaster. Brad Miller was on the court at the end of fourth quarter in both games, just no reason for that bullshit. No timeouts, can’t get a decent play out of a time out, it’s just brutal every game.

Whoever said he did a good job for a first year coach is out of their mind. He is a complete disaster.

I just had my week open up a bit and was considering trekking down from NYC for the Thurs game since I’ve never been to Camden Yards.

Looks like I can take a bus for a rd trip of $35 and a total of $3.20 on Baltimore light rail fares to and from the stadium.

Any suggestions or input?
I’d likely just head back immediately after the game.

get one of those bbq pork sandwiches down the right field line by boog powell. I have been to quite a bit of stadiums and after the original Tiger Stadium, Camden is my favorite road ballpark. I wish i could’ve went!
