Chris Getz is "Plan B" at Leadoff
There's a new Plan B at the leadoff spot for the White Sox if Dewayne Wise doesn't perform against right-handed pitchers.
It's Chris Getz, who batted leadoff occasionally at the University of Michigan but is currently targeted as the Sox's No. 2 hitter. Getz didn't bat leadoff in any of the Sox's first 36 exhibition games.
"If that doesn't work, then Getz," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "I think Getz is going to get you consistently good at-bats, day after day. How much is he going to hit? Well, we're going to find out."
Guillen reiterated he doesn't want to use Alexei Ramirez at the leadoff spot against left-handers, preferring to use him in an RBI spot. That could change only if Brian Anderson struggles against left-handers.

Replacing "Chicago Tough" with "Cuban Pride"
Anyone Know
If Cutler will be throwing out the 1st pitch for any of the Sox’ 5 home games next week? I know Billy Pierce is throwing Opening Day’s out.
How long until...
Getz is the leaded off, and Anderson is our starting CF? Two months?

Got Getz?
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to make my fantasy baseball league’s draft, had a proxy doing it. After all was said and done, no one took Getz, even as a backup. So liking what I’ve seen from him, I picked him up, hoping he might get a chance to bat some lead off. I really think he’s going to have a good year and help the White Sox.
And Steven Andrew Milller, I give Wise about 1 month starting before Anderson gets the job. I really wished they wiould have given it to Anderson. If the hitting comes around from the infield, and the corner outfield spots, we could live with a slightly below avg. Anderson bat and hi above average defence. Have been fortunate enough to sit in the bleachers a few times he’s been in center, he makes it look too damn easy.
White Sox fan since the mid 70's.
