PrintThe fact that some "analyst" has the Minnesota Twins winning the 2009 World Series, or the fact that Peter Gammons has Gordan Beckham winning the AL Rookie of the year, the same Beckham that is in AA Birmingham. Does he forsee us tanking quickly and brining him up in late May? He also has Josh Fields as his Breakout Player (as does homer Chris Singleton), so where's all of this love coming from? (Alexei is also picked as a Breakout Player by 2 people, 1 person picked the Sox as a dark-horse team, & only 2 people picked the Sox to win the Central - ESPN Fantasy Analyst Matthew Berry & homer Chris Singleton)

Caple was a Twins beat writer back in the Kirby days. He’s always homerish, at least as much as Singleton.
I seem to recall Gammons has been high on Fields for some time, but that seems like a big stretch to call him a breakout player. Maybe he just foresees him having some bad acne.

Caple went to Twins fantasy camp and wrote about it in 2008, IIRC.
I don’t get the Fields thing. But why lament why folks are so high on Twins? Revel in their disappointment when they are wrong. Revenge = dish served cold.

definitely a dangerous pick with Fields
I would think his high strike out rate would make all the prognosticators stay away from him. As for Alassey, I am really interested to see how he turns out this season. I believe he will play better defense than people project.
Alexei already broke out no? I mean.. for him to have a break out season from last year would mean insane numbers?
