No game for the Sox
but a very big game for Leeds Utd, we win our match tonight we advance to the play off final, we lose we spend another season being the biggest team in league 1. I couldn’t get a ticket as it’s a sell out so I’ll be off down the pub to watch it.
I want some Karmic neutrals to support us in our game tonight, we should be in the EPL not fucking League 1

my BC Lietuvos Rytas is ahead
good luck to Leeds
Lupe, release the balloons!
game over, we won.
I will use JD’s description of Q to summarize the final’s series: “strange”. WIth series tied 2-2, Rytas blows Z out with ~40 pt win, in game 6 Z destroys Rytas with ~30 pt win. Game 7 went to overtime.
good day to you all, i am taking a break from SSS.

Anywhere to catch this one online?
It’s a real shame that Euro soccer isn’t more accessible over here. From my (admittedly distant) perspective, it seems like an exploitable/profitable market…
ESPN360 is free on college campuses
(which is nice if you happen to work on one) but the whole Sky/Setanta/Fox group are all behind pay walls. When the Champions League moves over to FSC in a few I’m sure the ratings will plummet (such as they can).
One of my clients told me how it all works today - it's what he does for the Mouse.
Looks like ESPN Classic is going the way of the dodo bird and ESPN will house stuff like fiedl hockey, soccer, etc. They move the 3 cameras at the live event with joysticks from Bristol! Cool.

Outside of their live sports coverage ESPN is dead to me
All of the individual sports networks (NHL & MLB Network — I don’t know much about the NBA and NFL’s individual stations but I’d guess their coverage is similarly a whole helluva lot better than the shit at ESPN) do a much better job of covering their respective sports than ESPN. It’s completely defunct to me. At school I’m shocked to see people still going to ESPN.com for their sports news and “analysis”.
Well, for ESPN360 it their target seems to be
geared toward niche markets – like parents of kids who participate in laX. They seem to want to extend their tentacles into every nook and cranny – and they are.
We’re a pack of a-holes.

For the mainstream douchebag American sports fan, I think ESPN is seen as heaven.
All the “story lines” and nonsensical bullshit that they feel comfortable with and none of that numbers mumbo jumbo from those fucking geeks that they used to beat up in high school. You also don’t have to sit through the “sissy” sports (ie anything other than NFL, MLB, basketball, and hockey…although hockey is still teetering on the edge for most of these dunderheads).
That being said, I’m with you CWSKeith, ESPN is a big, steaming pile of crap.
You are right. But larry is actually a prick too.

Yes, among others. I don't watch ESPN ever, unless there is a baseball game I want to watch. So I am, for the most part, not exposed to Berman.
Reading the afterword of “Moneyball,” I hate Morgan even more than I used to…
The book itself called out his douchebaggery in a roundabout way, but in the afterword, Michael Lewis pretty much blatantly called him a big effing idiot, in a few more eloquent words.

OK, I'll bite.
Was that comment antisemitic and deserving of the cloaking I gave it? Or was it meant jokingly which I didn’t get, and deserved uncloaking?

I think it was a joke. I uncloaked it, thinking I accidentally cloaked it.
I would let the uncloaking stand. Your daughter posted a picture yesterday, fuzzy as it was, that was probably more offensive and it was allowed (properly, I think) to stand.

relax, it's a "transition" year
a transition to one of the lowest payroll teams in the league.
Also - can we throw in the 3rd shutout avoided - by the wild pitch the other night? It wasn't the 9th, but scoring our only run on an error may as well be a shut-out.
