New Music Thread (because Hatchetm wouldn't start one himself)
If you want to talk Wilco, then be my guest. I have not yet heard their album and honestly can't recall a specific song by the boys, though I know their album with the Marina Towers on the cover is ubiquitous.
The most interesting music I've heard lately has been Desorden Publico, a Venezuelan Ska band. Some of their songs sound like clown music, literally.
Other recent favorites have included Bad Brains and the Melvins.
Now, let's trash the place!

I like one Damien Rice song....but otherwise, I want to slit my wrists when I put it on. And not in a good slitting-your-wrists like Elliot Smith or The Cure.
I hope that is not what you intend to use for my “surround sound” demo next week.

Wife calling me a “whigger”. Suggestion to other parents of young children: Do NOT listen to “What I Got” on the way to school. “MF” term is NOT appropriate.

Going to see Drake this Friday at the House of Blues
IMO, the best “new” rapper out there, should be fun.
Also, if anyone hasn’t listened/watched Motherlover yet, please do so. Not as amazing as D*ick in a Box, but still a classic.

Wasn't a fan of his stage presence
Kinda jiving all around, but the overall experience was a blast, and it was only 15 bucks. Freestyled a little bit, mostly sang from So Far Gone. During “Best I Ever Had” some tools started a fight, Drake tried to go into the crowd, Lupe Fiasco held him back, lol.

Latin America is one of the last holdouts of Ska music
I’m sure there is still some first wave stuff floating around the Islands… no idea about American/Third Wave Ska.
I was really into the shit from like 9 to 12ish 13ish. I remember getting told I was “too young” to be at shows by like 15 year old kids.

Anybody heard of Mayer Hawthhorne and the County yet?
Saw them in Austin at SXSW, missed them in NYC last weekend.
29 year old dude from A2 spins neo-soul/doowop. Very catchy, personally I never quiet knew how good motown was until Mayer Hawthorne got me into the old school stuff.
They have been building a pretty big buzz, but they only have an EP right now.
