Well, they're no longer in Ozzie Guillen's hands.
And while the White Sox manager was saying all the right things about his current staff and their immediate future on Tuesday, he also made it very clear that the final decision will now come from general manager Ken Williams.
That's a bit different than what was said several years ago, when Williams insisted that Guillen was given the full say of the firing and hiring of the staff around him. Even earlier this season, the manager told the Sun-Times that several of the coaches had already signed deals and they were finalizing extensions with the others. ...

But Williams got testy when asked about hitting coach Greg Walker.
"Why are you getting specific on him?" Williams replied. "We win and lose as a unit. We get in that coaches’ room, and everyone has individual responsibilities but we got Joey Cora, who is a major league hitter. Ozzie Guillen was a major league hitter. I had some at-bats.
“We’ve got guys here who have input in various areas. We’re all baseball people. So when you talk about one particular guy, it’s unfair, when the hitting coach or pitching coach get too much credit when things go well and too much blame when they don’t. I’m not getting into anything specific."
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

Kenny had some at bats.
Glad he did not say he was a “major league hitter”.
We’re a pack of a-holes.
