As most of you know, I am a Case Worker at Children’s Home and Aid in the foster care program.

If you are considering a donation, please think about donating to Children’s Home and Aid. We are one of the state’s leading foster care agencies and serve quiet alot of clients. I can assure you that the money will go to people who really need it and that we work very hard to get the most out of every dollar.

Less walking, more swinging please

who needs a power hitter that walks? You cant hit home runs if you dont swing. It is all about batting average and RBIs and he sucks at both, get rid of him.

You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

you tried to support your point using a subscription link

don’t be angry at me if you can’t support your claims, be angry with making those claims in the first place

you didn’t like #3. maybe you’ll like #4. that was my point. and the point of this post, as the repetition of phrase beats over the reader’s head, is to provide something for different people.

i hate tom verducci, but he's right on here...
1. Let me get this straight: The Padres, knowing that Jake Peavy told them months ago he preferred to stay in the National League if he were traded, arranged a trade to send him to an American League team with a worse record and possibly a worse offense than the Padres themselves. What’s Plan B? A deal with the St. Louis Browns?

Seriously, Peavy gave up free agency to sign an extension with the Padres and now he’s expected to just march off to a 17-23 team because the Padres found themselves a trade partner? The Padres aren’t winning a pennant this year or any time soon, not with the farm system they have in place. In fact, one GM argues San Diego should restock its system by trading Peavy (to an attractive NL team this time, thank you) and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who might pull in an even bigger bounty than Peavy given his cheap contract and the predictability of top position players. Think of it as a better version of the Orioles trading Erik Bedard and Miguel Tejada.

But no, the White Sox were in no position to convince Peavy to leave his home and his preferred league. The White Sox have the worst offense in the AL, and are too slow and old. When Scott Podsednik is in center field, they have five guys in the lineup between 32 and 38. They actually began the year with Jose Contreras, 37, and Bartolo Colon, 36, taking up 40 percent of the rotation. They have no home runs out of the second base and center field positions. Their 1-2 hitters have a combined OBP of .277. They have scored two or fewer runs in 16 of 40 games. So what exactly would be the attraction for Peavy?

So far the Padres have whiffed on trading Peavy to the Braves, Cubs and White Sox — and they are not done trying.

Always bet on black!

that's all well and good

but money covers up a lot of warts. kenny was just wasting time if he wasn’t prepared to pick up that option.

by Hatchetm on May 22, 2009 12:13 PM CDT up reply actions

wouldn't it be kind of irresponsible to pick up a $22 million option for 2013?

yeah, this should occur way more often.

especially with a lefty on the mound and a righty at bat. but marginal ways to score were pretty much lost in the steroid era.
