We don't need Peavy we got Floyd

The SSS community is grabbing their loins after this win. We don't need Peavy we got Floyd! In the last 3-4 starts Floyd has been tipping his pitches leading to terrible outings. Anyone with a curve that drops off a table should not be getting lit up. Well, the Sox said they saw the problem and the best pitching coach in baseball identified the issue, and apparently fixed Floyd again. I am happy to report that I am writing a drunken post after an exciting Hawk's and Sox victory. HSA's loins are more soaked than a life jacket after Che's game defining home run. We will see if tipping pitches was really Floyd's problem. Here is to a win, and Floyd calming the fan base after arguably those most pressure filled start of the year.

SouthSideSox is a community driven site. As such, users are able to express their thoughts and opinions in a FanPost, such as this one, which represents the views of this particular fan, but not necessarily the entire community or SouthSideSox editors.

Chicago White Sox leave Jake Peavy offer on the table
The White Sox offer to San Diego for Jake Peavy remains on the table in hopes that the former Cy Young Award winner will change his mind and waive his no-trade clause.

“When it happens in the third week of May and you’re forced to make a decision so quickly that affects your entire family, I think it’s probably a wise thing for him to take a step back, review the situation, and go from there,” White Sox general manager Ken Williams said Friday. "But we won’t, as I explained to him, we won’t sit around.

“We’ve got business to take care of. We’ve got to right our ship. So we’re not going to sit around waiting for this, but who knows what will happen in the future?”

Peavy apparently wanted to mull the decision for several days, but Williams had only a 72-hour window to talk with him because it would involve contract issues. …

I am so back and forth on this one

I would love to see Peavy in the black and white but the cost is so high…

I completely agree. Especially towards the end of his contract.

I wonder if he could become another Zito after switching into the AL.

so fun to meet you all. nobody looked like they were supposed to, except wu, larry (only from site accounts), and if you force me, colin (but shoulda been long brown hippie hair, not blonrownd).

also, I better get a fucking recap from TAEG. DO NOT make me ask again.

also, cheat is sneaky with the fireworks guy. a real damn journalist!

also, mr chiburb shoulda met more people.

also, word on the street is furby is young. I may have broken laws.

also, carl! he’s like almost as cool a book seller as the other imaginary book seller we all know about.

also, I think LT drank enough to get scolded by HSA but HSA was drunk enough not to scold. all is well.

also, U-god does indeed smell like he had his arms up a horse recently.

this was by far the best one could hope from a meetup with strangers.

I'm not going to lie...

LT… = man that guy us a grinder… He just oozed enthusiasm. If we had a softball team… He’s my CF (rowand)

I’m very happy to have made it home safely albeit at 103 am. Just a fantastic time. Great to put faces with all the names… and it was probably the best game of the year that no one watched…I suggest next year, an earlier pregame… or an outing that has nothing to do with a game. Either way deal me in….

Thanks HSA for making this possible…

I am thinking golf tourny or wiffle ball or something… i am sure someone will give a proper recap of the evening but, i think that am/pm sums it up best……

Too much good stuff.

I hope I didn’t abuse Carl too much , I just couldn’t believe he was there.

Of course, special thanks to hsa for organizing this and ElDiablo for a great tailgate (and pork chops).

joey's back in charge
White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen will leave the team following Friday’s contest with Pittsburgh in order to return to Venezuela to be with his ailing father-in-law. Guillen plans to come back to Chicago on Sunday, although it’s not certain whether he will be present for the series finale.
