Sox May Trade For Oswalt
According to the Chicago Tribune's Web site, White Sox special assistant Bill Scherrer is following Houston, which is currently in last place in the National League's Central Division. Oswalt, who is a right-handed pitcher, will earn $45 million from 2009 to 2011, as well as a $16 million club option and a $2 million buyout, according to the Tribune.

What would we have to give for him?
I’m guessing either alot or we can cheat Houston. The Astros are in a tough situation down there, they need to improve their farm system fast, but they don’t want to give up yet.
Rebuild and Restock.
If its a situation where Oswalt demands the club option be picked up
I would be ok with it. His comps on b-r have tended to pitch well in older age
brndnprkns: I'm pretty sure the "badass" value of your life is closer to Gigli than The Dark Knight
Would be nice to have MB and Oswalt on the same team. Two of the quickest works in the game.
Any chance we could get the deal done with just Poreda and Richard? Did the failed Peavy deal set the price?
Is the concensus
that this would be a good pickup? He’s owed a lot of money for a guy who has never proven it in the AL. I think we caught a break on the Peavy thing, and I’m not so sure about this one either.
Ed Farmer: "Is it raining in here?"
Steve Stone: "I've made an egregious mistake."
I somewhat agree with you. While Peavy has done well in SD, I would hate for the Sox to get Zito'd in the end.
No lie about it, Peavy is owed a ship load of money at the end of us contract. Especially if he wants the option exercised as well as a full no trade clause. Not sure that is the best use of money. But what do I know.
If Oswalts name is mentioned, we know KW tried
and failed and has moved on to the next pitcher
Remember, under the radar.
Colon, who after pitching 5 scoreless innings, had to leave the game with an upset stomach.
Although I think I agree that KW probably already made the call, but we never heard anything about it until now.
I could see a 10% chance a deal being discussed
So we are to believe that in this economy,
with the Sox’ offseason moves to cut payroll, JR now wants to take on a huge contract to win a division? (And we’d probably go no farther than that.)
Color me skeptical.
We’re a pack of a-holes.

He did that with the Bulls.
Sacramento was unloading guys for nothing, so he went for it.
EVERYBODY PICK US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO
Sox Machine
because those moves were all about cutting payroll.
color me skeptical.

Tell me what they were about.
The ST move, chemistry, etc., sure. However, in the main, it was monetarily driven. Please.

i think it was chemistry driven and, with vazquez, the usual deal from perceived strength (always pitching with this team), this time to rebuild the farm.
i don’t buy this organization crying poor. bunch of fucking vultures is what they are.

or Bedard
Somewhere out there, Ken Williams is lurking. His manager knows it and his players know it, but when and where will the general manager strike on another deal?
He acquired reserve catcher Ramon Castro on Friday, already tried to land San Diego ace Jake Peavy last week, and is rumored to be smack dab on the trail of the likes of an Erik Bedard or Roy Oswalt.

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
Kenny needs to be selling
not buying
Colon, who after pitching 5 scoreless innings, had to leave the game with an upset stomach.
he needs to be doing whatever most gm's are not doing.
whether that be buying or selling.
Cashing checks and having sex.
another NL pussy
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Houston ace Roy Oswalt would not agree to any trade involving the White Sox.
Oswalt isn’t commenting publicly about his status. Sox special assistant Bill Scherrer has been following the Astros on their recent trip to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

Ughh
It’s clear to them what the Cell would do to their beloved ERA.
Like you mentioned . . . pussies
so you're calling black jack a pussy?
Why would these guys WANT to change leagues? They aren’t scared folks, just smart.
