Wise's career OBP is .252.
So…
EVERYBODY PICK US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO

with just barely 500+ career PA beginning in 2000 with a .236 BABIP
he’s never had more than 200 PA in any one season. meanwhile, he’s got an extensive minor league track record that you’re ignoring. the projection systems are probably better than you at this. and they all agree on which player is better.
THIS STORY ONLY ENDS ONE WAY
He's 31 years old.
Great minor-league performances without anything in the majors after age 28 don’t mean a whole helluva lot to me. Otherwise, the Myrows of the world would just be waiting for their times to shine.
He’s walked once in 100 plate appearances this year, counting spring training. He looks equally lost right now, which is in line for his entire MLB career save 130 ABs last year, in which he was in decline for the last half of it (.213/.268 over August and September).
So… .252 + 31 years old + aesthetic hopelessness seals the deal for me.
EVERYBODY PICK US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO
Sox Machine
i recognize that he's not good. that's not the issue.
the projection systems take all of the stuff you’re talking about into account, too. it’s not nearly as big a deal as i’ve made it (it’s been working for Pods…), but if you had to predict which would be better over the course of a season, there’s plenty of evidence that says “go with Wise”. i’d prefer SSS not get caught up in Hawk’s “Pods is the catalyst of this offense” nonsense, which is why i started saying something in the first place.

I am a little late to the game and perhaps this was already discussed...
but how does Greinke have a unearned run if KC has no errors?
I looked up that inning though... JD singled anyways right?
Why does that go unearned? Genuine questioning… I don’t really care about Greinke’s ERA as impressive as it is.
Could be because DeJesus trapped the ball, and Pods would've held up. Then the DP afterward.
