Borchard would run into something on occasion. Fields no longer gets the chance because pithers don’t have a problem throwing high, but still in the zone fastballs

if i had any talent, i’d do a skanberg-esque comic where the five managers of the al central teams, as midgets, are arguing about who is tallest. then a panel or two later long shadows would appear in the background, dwarfing said individuals, before being revealed as the al east and al west leaders. since that wouldn’t make much sense given the current standings, maybe i’d make the shadows representative of nl teams. if anyone has any extra lsd lying around i could probably get this done in a two or three months or thereabouts.

Greate game, dominant pitching

and took advantage of the soft underbelly of the opponent’s bullpen. 12/3 K/BB ratio, doesn’t get much better than that. Thorndog is freaking nasty. Most teams would do well to have him as their closer. A healthy Liney goes down smooth as well.

to the game notice the 2nd base ump and Pods get into it. Going out to his position in the top of the 9th pods and the ump were going at it not sure y, but Anderson had to come ova and restrain pods.

but he gave Phil Cuzzi an earful in the 8th.

I didn’t even realize Cuzzi was behind the plate until they showed Pods clearly mouth “That was way outside, Cuzzi”

fwiw, i think we need a sss sentiment indicator

maybe after the end of each series members are asked to determine the amount of wins the sox will have by the end of the season.

i suggest this in light of the overwhelming negativity expressed by fans about two weeks ago. while it got me down on the team, i remained cautious knowing that the herd, at extremes, is almost always wrong.

i’d volunteer to do it as a post-series fanthing but

  1. it might be considered spam
  2. maybe no one cares about consensus
  3. larry might object to an attempt to quantify qualitative properties
  4. i’m flaky, and if i get bored of it i’ll stop midstream even if it picks up steam

Beginning Wednesday, street light banners commemorating a series of special events in Chicago are going on the auction block for charity. Some of the banners were shown off Tuesday, including those featuring Pres. Barack Obama both before and after his election. A White Sox World Series Championship banner, signed by pitcher Mark Buehrle, is also being sold, as is a Blackhawks playoff banner signed by Denis Savard and Stan Mikita. The bidding starts at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Daley Center. Money raised goes to help the Chicago Anti-hunger Federation and the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
