If he can get that changeup over with confidence
watch out!
Still wondering why he is working on these pitchs as a reliever in the big leagues rather than as a starter in Birmingham.

Maybe management decided he wasn't getting any better after 3 1/2 months (counting ST)
So why not use him for what he does have/bring?
The City of Chicago, led by Mayor Daley and a vast and tumorous army of aldermen and bagmen and yesmen and opportunists and spineless, parasitic political-machine halfwits of forms never seen outside the roiling cesspool of governmental slop-trough greed, has proven itself unworthy of something as potentially delicious and fulfilling as the 2016 Olympic Games.

Maybe
But, I would rather have him develop his pitches and confidence in the minors rather than pitching an inning every 4-5 days.

I could not agree more
after one week, I am really confused as to why he is on the MLB roster.

seems rather like the classic ease the rookie into the big leagues first in the bullpen
over/under on rotation is the all-star break. and i’d imagine the lack of use is due to a side session on tuesday and penciling him in as the longman if clayton faltered on friday.

I am okay with him going to the bullpen first, but
not okay if he is up here to be a mopup guy once a week when Carrasco isnt performing said function. I really would have thought he was going to start Friday and then be relegated to the bullpen. I realize it is only a week, so there is time for this to get sorted out. I just question the timing at this juncture.

So they are waiting for Jose or Clayton to fail?
That’s great. In the meantime he shouldn’t have been brought up until that happened.

i suppose failure is one way.
there are others, of course. such as ones that a team has more control over.

You speak like Don Vito Corleone
are you suggesting one of them may soon be sleeping with da fishes?
Or are you suggesting a Contreras or Richard trade?

i've already opined on this topic.
room will be made for him. unless the white sox have already decided he’s never going to develop into a starter. but that’s another discussion.

It's not just about getting it over
He’s gotta keep the same arm action. We saw some brutal, slowed delivery changeups in spring training, the type that major league hitters eat alive.

so the gun was pretty slow on him
the results looked a lot better than the gun readings…it’s nice to have the corrected data. i’m still concerned by his offspeed stuff. a 15 mph split between FB and SL is huge.
