this is great
takes some real stones for the one certifiable cocksucker on here to jump into this convo.-mm
Hope the Sodfather made the trip.
Jerry Taft says rain out by 8, but I don’t think the shithole drains as well as Comiskular.
The City of Chicago, led by Mayor Daley and a vast and tumorous army of aldermen and bagmen and yesmen and opportunists and spineless, parasitic political-machine halfwits of forms never seen outside the roiling cesspool of governmental slop-trough greed, has proven itself unworthy of something as potentially delicious and fulfilling as the 2016 Olympic Games.

before this season the white sox grounds keeper helped wrigley install a new drainage system, similar to the one at comiskular

At least the rain will wash away some Wrigley's infamous stench of urine.
And you don't need a weatherman
To know which way the wind blows.
I could really use this game tonight
Probably going to get laid off, the entire child welfare system in Illinois on the verge of collapse… sigh
at least I got beer

hopefully its not dependent on state funding
If it happens I will be fine, I’m all setup for an LSAT review course and am planning on going to law school soon, I never planned on sticking with case work. The people that have made this a career are most in trouble.
But our foster kids and parents will be totally shit out of luck. Its going to cause some major problems.
Wave that flag.... Wave it wide and high.. Summertime... Done come and gone, My oh my
as i say to everyone contemplating law school
make sure you know what you’re getting into. wracking up $140K in debt or something isn’t generally a good idea.

I've thought long and hard about it
My Grandfather started a firm here in Rockford and my dad currently runs it. I have a job secured right out of law school. (workers comp and ssi)

should have gotten into a better business.
now, i’m saying this as an outsider and it’s purely anecdotal. but i sure see lots of kids around. seems like you’re on the wrong end of the supply/demand curve. now, old people. that’s a booming business. always dying so we need new ones.

Illinois
Has the largest amount of kids in foster care out of all 50 states. We started the shit as well, not too good.
They are talking about cutting payments to foster care providers by 50 percent, that is going to “blow placements” as we say.
Wave that flag.... Wave it wide and high.. Summertime... Done come and gone, My oh my
Political posturing as usual. Though it wouldn't hurt if some at the trough shared the pain real citizens are feeling.
Not you of course, but the Madigans of the world don’t have a clue.

Yeah
Trust me we are private agencies are not too happy. State workers are due a raise, but the majority of us will be laid off. Furthermore DCFS expects to lay off 38 percent of its workers. That means the case load will be around 50 families which means = the state is the one committing the neglect.
Its posturing on all sides, a tax hike is needed and nobody wants to be involved. Lisa Madigan hasn’t said a peep on the subject… I wonder why.
Wave that flag.... Wave it wide and high.. Summertime... Done come and gone, My oh my
And I'd add that Illinois is almost Mississippi-like in Its regard for "human" issues. Like "human" equates to "communism" instead of neighbors.

i'm surprised to hear that, there must be break down of social spending (or on human services) by state
i’d say illinois is in the middle

I don’t think I’ll be able to see ANY of the other games against the Cubs. Maybe they’ll reschedule this one when I can see it though.

This does present one cool possibility: a day-night el-DH
Ed Farmer: "Is it raining in here?"
Steve Stone: "I've made an egregious mistake."
test run for the 2013 series, which itself will act as a test run for the 2016 olympics.
it’s a moot point of course as we’ll all be dead by the the end of 2012 anyways, according to the internet.

lets say the whole series gets rained out
how sweet would it be to need to make up a Cubs game to decide the division along the lines of playing the Tigers to close things out last year?
